The Broan downdraft works great! It matches the new induction cooktop and pops up and does its job! We really like the infinitely adjustable fan speed control. A mid-range setting is usually plenty, but a couple of times we used the maximum and it quickly cleared the air!. It is reasonably quiet for most use.
Well made, looks great, and works well and quietly
Quiet, powerful and sleek fan. We love ours after 2 years of use. Installed in new kitchen. Couldn't be happier.
I Love my Broan downdraft. It has different settings to remove steam and smoke from my pots.
We had an older vent similar to this but from a different manufacturer that was nearly useless. We were very reluctant to install a another downdraft system given how poorly the first one performed, but a salesman we trust highly recommended this to accompany our new cooktop. We are very pleased as this works as well in our kitchen as most hood vents work. The vent quickly and efficiently clears cooking odors, steam and, yes, even smoke if we are not paying enough attention to what we are cooking. It is reasonably quiet and very unobtrusive when not in use. Even when in use it is reasonably sized and does not take up too much of the island where we have it installed. Of course, like any downdraft system I'm familiar with, it does take up a fair amount of real estate in the cabinet below the cooktop, but
Replaced another brand. Fit in the same opening, had to do a little venting work but went well.
Works really well. Did a remodel and replaced an older model. Creates a strong draft that can alter the flame from the burners.
good design for a small space, difficult to install due to space constraints. Wish it would raise higher to catch more cooking odors.
hi, hoping I get some help from broan here in this forum, I have the 2730/2736 eclipse and installer just installed it. Problem is, the down draft goes "up and down, up and down" and doesn't stop. The other thing is the "flap" is slightly bent, it bows upward in the middle.
Filters can be removed and cleaned but they are so ineffectual that grease ends up accumulating and then pouring out of the bottom of the device. There is no removable grease trap. Even with light use, at least every six months we have to remove the whole fan unit and degrease it. This is no easy task. The rising part of the unit cannot be removed for cleaning without (get this!) removing the whole of the cooktop. The design so far as maintenance and cleaning is concerned is flawed. I would not recommend this product at all and would urge any prospective purchaser to investigate alternative solutions.
