Excellent product, everything is great about this unit. We are surprised how hot this can get. So the slow cooker seems to finish a dish a little faster than our countertop model. However, this slow cooker seems to produce better tasting recipes! Heads up - we have this unit installed in the middle drawer of a base cabinet. The drawer and countertop above the unit can get very hot, so don't place butter or items that can melt easily above it. FOR INSET STYLE CABINETS AND/OR PANEL-READY INSTALLATION: If you are using inset cabinets, there are installation issues you need to be aware of in regard to the opening size and depth of unit. Our installer had to remove drywall behind cabinet to get unit in far enough for inset. The flange around the unit was too wide for unit to fit b/c of the inset, he had to remove metal. And if you are purchasing a panel-ready unit along with having inset cabinets, there are even more issues. Make sure your installer knows what he is doing, as it can get tricky with some customizing perhaps necessary. Brace yourself for additional installation labor. If you are installing this in regular cabinetry, it should go smoothly.
I bought this a few months ago and it has been awesome for keeping food warm until dinner time.
Added a warming drawer to our remodeled kitchen. When I read the manual and discovered the slow cook feature I used it to cook ribs and they turned out great. Nice bonus to the warming drawer.
Very pleased with the look and design. Great that you can configure to hold many different sizes of pans
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace a 20 year old warming drawer (Dacor) that had stopped working. It was pretty much the only 27 inch model available. The construction of the drawer is less robust than the Dacor - thinner sheet metal, flimsier slides. It also required some customization to install; we had to install a plywood base under the unit to accommodate the flange on the bottom of the drawer front. (With the prior unit, the bottom of the drawer front was flush with the opening.) Our biggest complaint with function is that at the highest heat setting the drawer doesn't seem very hot. For example, at the highest setting plates can be handled without an oven mitt. Perhaps this is intentional to prevent burns? Still, maximum heat is much lower than our previous unit and limits effectiveness. I do like the drawer-front light that indicates unit is on; our previous unit lacked and sometimes resulted in the unit remaining on for extended periods.
Just installed and have not used yet. One major complaint is for the price I would have expected the warmer drawer to come with the metal pans. It does not include any at all. Only comes with two racks for the bottom. Disappointed.
