The best coffee maker I've owned! It can be set to turn off from 1 minute to x-hours, coffee tastes great!
I bought this coffee maker a month ago and am so happy that I did
We needed a pot to keep in our mobile communications unit that will hold up to bumpy travel conditions. The steel carafe was a must. So far so good. I built a padded base and added a strap to hold the unit in place.
I am very pleased with my new cuisinart coffee maker. It was easy to program and it makes a wonderful pot of coffee at 5 am sharp every morning as I am rolling out of bed. It's easy to clean also.
This is a replacement for a older version of this coffee pot and I must say that the quality and durability is awesome because we have brewed 2 pots of coffee a day for the last 5-6 years.
Let's get the bad out of the way. I had limited height so was looking for a coffee maker that had a water reservoir that didn't fill from the top. The description for this one said it was removable and the photos showed it was more to the side than straight up. Great! However, you need to fill the coffee and remove the heating tank by lifting straight up. Not great. Also, a short cord I can understand. This cord? It's ridiculously short!! If you want to place it in a corner (a spot I considered after the short height option failed),& your plug is on the opposing wall- nope. It will not reach!! Finally, it gets a lot of gross condensate on the reservoir lid over the grounds. Now for the good. The tank keeps the coffee warm for quite a while (could be a bit hotter, but acceptable). You might wonder why I gave it for stars after all the negatives. It makes a GOOD cup of coffee. Good enough that I kept it even with all its problems. If they at least addressed the cord issue and made the tank heater a few degrees warmer, it would be 4.5 stars. If they figured out a way to make everything side accessible?? 5 stars all the way!!
Great machine overall. Unfortunately, it is a little too hot on low heat setting. I don't like that there is no wondow on outside to see how much water is in machine and its hard to look into and not wide to pour water in it. I don't like the lid to the coffeepot. Its snap on and doesn't always want to cooperate. The lids that are attached in the back and go up and down in front are better overall and they don't need to be often removed (if connections are decent they are easily cleaned) Based on difficulty puttingin water, no window outside machine showing how full, snap on lid on coffee pot, and low heat is a temp many would consider medium to medium high instead of just hot enough, i really would give this a 3.5 not a full 4. I like that it beeps when done, can be preset, has clock, allows smaller amounts, and has the charcoal thing for the water. This is not the first one we have had. But hopefully this lasts longer than last one which one day just stopped turned on for no reason. Its a much better coffeemaker than 2 other less expensive brands we tried. Just wish the issues mentioned were addressed. I like this version (buttons etc) better than others in this brand.
The carafe has an odd design. The bottom of the handle is open and the handle is hollow , so when putting the carafe upside down in the dishwasher, water pours over your feet when emptying the machine
I bought this to replace my Mr. Coffee, which I loved but whose thermal carafe started leaking. I could not find a replacement carafe so bought this. I prefer the Mr. Coffee, except for that carafe. First, the positive: the coffee is delicious! It stays hot in the glass carafe, much hotter than the thermal carafe with Mr. Coffee. What I don't like: it takes 7 minutes to brew 6 cups of coffee, vs. 4 min. for Mr Coffee. To brew, you have to fill up the carafe and pour into reservoir, being careful not to spill while pouring into this small space, whereas Mr Coffee had a removable reservoir you filled up at the sink, a process that was much quicker. This machine uses conical filters that don't stand on their own, so you have to place in the machine and then fill with coffee. The Mr Coffee used regular filters that you can sit on the counter and fill and then place in the maker. These are all little things, but they add up to less convenience for me. I miss my Mr. Coffee!
Seriously leaking problem from Glass Pot when pouring coffee into the cup...It's O ring fall apart...
