I have replaced my GE Profile Refrigerator MSWF filter several times. This past month the drinking water feature on front of refrigerator stopped working. I Googled this issue and one of the issues they mentioned is that your water filter may need to be replaced. Since my existing filter was about a year old, I ordered a new one and viola! once I installed the new MSWF filter the drinking water function began to work again.
It's the real deal. Don't bother trying one of those generic water filters you can buy for much less. Those filters do not work. While the GE filters are rather expensive, Walmart was selling them for slightly less than I could find anywhere else.

It was easy to find the filter on the Walmart web site and easy to order. The shipment arrived sooner than anticipated and was well packaged. They always work as advertised.
I have a ten year old GE Refrigerator and I bought water filters from after market firms. This year that company still sells the same filter and suggest it will work in my refrigerator but they changed the throat on the filter and it will not work. Walmart's filter works and the price is good. Shipping was no problem and the filters arrived on time.
When searching online for a water filter, I discovered that Walmart had the filter I needed. I had no idea that Walmart carried refrigerator water filters. It was at a great price compared to other places that I had purchased this filter.
I ordered this filter to replace an old one. It was just what I was looking for. I tried "off" brands & they did not work as "promised" I have found that using the correct part, instead of "compatible generic" ones to be best for my needs. I had no trouble replacing the filter and it works just as it should!! The price was VERY good also as I found the same part for alot more money in other stores. I would definitely purchase this again!!
Filter works good. But since you asked, only problem is Walmart and Lowes no longer stock this model so I have to go on-line to buy it, wait 4 days to pick it up at store. No big deal, I just happen to be in Walmart all the time and now I have to change my habits. We are all very, very blessed in this country. I just wish more people appreciated it. Thank you Walmart for offering it on line.
This is the only water filter that works with my GE fridge so I had to buy it. The price was the cheapest I could find (I also looked at Home Depot, Lowes, and Amazon.com). The installation was easy and quick, except the instructions said to remove some protective cover or something from the filter before installation but there was no such cover.
I had to return the filter because someone had put a different water filter in the box. I also discovered that the filter on the shelf in the store was 7.00 cheaper. Just a little surprised.
