One of the many great features of this meter is that if you do not get enough of a blood sample, it gives you 60 secs to do so. Largest numbers on display available, 7.14,30 day average. Alarm 4x a day to remind you to test. Smallest amount of blood sample .3ul. Another great optional feature is the optional C0-Pilot software. It is free at ABBOTTS website. Usb tranfer cable is extra. With the Co-Pilot software, you can download readings to a computer . I do this on a laptop and bring to doctor so we can go over infor on several graphs. The BIG PICTURE! The software and this meter is AWSOME. If you want to take control, this meter is a must !
This meter replaced the Freestyle Flash meter yet they added some new features. It now shows 7, 14 & 30 day averages. That can be very helpful. The only thing I dont like is that the old meters showed the time. This one will record the time of testing but I liked having the clock available. Overall this meter is wonderful. Its small so it fits easily into a purse or pocket. Uses the smallest blood sample which is always a big help. But the size and accuracy of this meter are what will keep me from ever wanting to change to another.
I could have gotten a rebate, but it asked for too much personal info, so I let it go. I have another meter and FreeStyle reads 10-15 points lower than my meter and my meter has a testing solution, so I don't want to be relying on this meter as primary. one of the features of the FreeStyle is that it has no testing.
meter is inexpensive, but try to get a data cable to use the software to record your readings and you can't purchase it locally, it's $58 and on back order with no idea when it'll be available.
