This was purchased as a birthday gift for our 3 year old granddaughter. She is a little tall for her age and has out grown her 12" bike but not quite ready for a 16". She fell in love with it as soon as she received it and rides it everytime she is outside. 14" bikes are a little hard to find - at least in our area so I was thrilled to find this one at Walmart, order it on line and pick it up fully assembled at a local store all on the same day!!
I was a little worried when it came un-assembled as I am a Grandma and hadn't not put a bike together in 30 years. But the directions were easy to follow. It appears to be very sturdy and should be able to be passed down to her younger sister. Great value.
We bought this for our daughter on her 4th birthday. Since we call her "monkey" it was the perfect bike for her. She loves it. She has now had it 3 months and rides it almost every day an it still looks great. It is also the perfect size for her.
Check the box if you are picking it up. Mine was open, but, my mistake, didn't check if the little backpack was there. No big deal. The bike is a simple one. Just take care mounting the helping wheels and voila! enjoy it.
I think the bicycle was very well constructed and it was very easy to do the final assembly from the shipping container. It is a great bicycle for a toddler starting out.
Bike was assembled at Walmart; however, handlebars needed tightening. Very pleased with bike but not the Walmart labels stuck on this product's fender and other parts. The adhesive residue was most difficult to remove despite alcohol used to remove label's adhesive. Recommend tying labels to bike with buyer's info.and "will pick up" status signs .
I bought this bike for my daughter this Christmas. I put it together in an hour. It was easy to assemble, chose not to have it done at WalMart even though it was free. The only problem I had with this bike was that I didn't understand why there was a reflector under the seat that was going to be hardly viable because of the frame fender in the back is raised so high. Other wise I like this bike. Its a 14in which WalMart doesn't carry in the stores that I have looked in. Its all 12s and 16 inch bikes.
Unfortunately the pedals were put on too tight and they don't spin like they should and it makes it very difficult for my granddaughter to pedal. There is no way to adjust this. Her foot keeps slipping off because the pedal sticks. If you should purchase this bike be sure to check and make sure the pedals move freely.
The bike arrived and we assembled it. It had a clicking noise. We called the company and they said it needed a new sprocket. So they sent us that part. We had to disassemble a lot of the bike and replace the sproket. It didn't come with any instructions to do this. Replacing the sprocket requires a special tool which we don't have. We ended up having to take it to the bike shope to be repaired for $20. It is running great now although one of the streamers broke off of the handle the second time she rode it. It was a lot more hassle than I feel is necessary.
Ordered this bike as a birthday gift for our granddaughter. She needed a 14" bike and our stores don't carry that size in stock. Arrived via UPS, the delivery man rang doorbell and must have sprinted back to his truck knowing that I would have refused this pkg. had I seen it before he left. box was coming apart and had been wrapped up with a lot of strapping tape to hold it together. There was a 7 inch hole on one side and 6 smaller holes on the other side. The box was almost completely blackened with grime that rubbed off on our hands. I gave it a shot because her birthday was 3 days away. The paint on handlebars was all scratched and the fork that holds the bike to the wheel was so bent that it couldn't be attached. Boxed it back up and returned it to our local store. Even the clerk asked why I didn't refuse it when it was delivered. Went to ToysRUS and luckily found a 14" bike in stock and already assembled.
