This lock is great. Very easy to install, simple to use and looks great as well. Very sturdy.
Product is excellent, instructions were exact and precise. When I asked questions, the customer support responded in 24 hours and very knowledgeable and friendly.
Best lock ever! Safe, reliable, even if there's no power or wifi, the lock can be opened...last resource...the key. I use it in every home...great for Airbnb/Vrbo guests. Home family can use their phone to lock and unlock, services can get their own code, you can assign reocurrences or scheduled timeframes, edit codes, etc.
Works as advertised. Setup and installation was straightforward.
Overall, the best lock on the market. I have been through most of the non-YALE manufacturers at big box DIY stores and found very poor quality of design. In particular, the non-YALE use of cheap plastic materials results in lock failure in 1-3 years as the plastics give up and fracture after not too many cycles. In addition, I live in Florida and the heat fades these plastics and cheap metal finishes quickly. I have not enjoyed replacing all my locks every 1-3 years. The Yale lock is pretty awesome. The first thing you understand is that the materials are much, much better that the non-YALE locks. The metal finish is shiny, and does not bleach out and fade. The lock weighs more and although not a scientific statement, as a 40 year practicing Aerospace Design Engineer it sure seems like material selection is first rate. The code pad and lock swing are high quality and very smooth. Easy to program. The one reason I didn't give it 5 stars may be unfair on my part; occasionally, especially with children, the dead bolt will get swung out with the door open and the door gets closed with the child or person not realizing the bolt is out. The nature of the key pad is such that sometimes this happens when a hand inadvertently covers the pad or touches the home button during entry, then in the door close, the deadbolt takes quite a blow and things get slightly bent. Then the mechanism doesn't open well. Certainly, this is the owners “fault” as the lock is just doing what it is told to do. However, you never worried about this on old time locks but now you need to. Almost regaining the 5th star is the Warranty program. I did purchase this and YALE promptly replaced my lock via a computer communication process. I generally am not a big warranty chaser but I was impressed and glad I bought the protection. I like this lock a lot and plan to stick with them. We'll done, YALE. If you can come up with a solution to the accidental deadbolt opening (which is rare, but it only takes one to bend your lock) then this would be a 5 star bulletproof lock.
Like the lock but the auto open feature fails more than it works. Sometimes the door unlocks when we pull into the driveway but most times won't even unlock when we are standing right in front of it. That is disappointing.
item works as intended, setup was simple, after 18 months of use the glass/plastic covering the numbers is very scratched/cracked where the numbers of my code are, used to unlock the door maybe 1-2 times daily. does not hold up well. not sure if i can replace the glass alone,
I bought 2 of these a while back. I installed one for main entry and the 2nd for the garage door. Now, trying to install and add the 2nd lock to my account is frustrating beyond belief. The UI is sooo not user friendly. I tried both August and Yale App, same result:
The battery runs out every 3 or 4 days, the electronic board of the yale cannot be calibrated and I am still waiting for the replacement. I do not recommend this Yale smart lock
First couple days Auto Unlock worked great. Now it hasn't worked in the last 2 weeks. Pretty bummed. Also when it auto locks there is a weird clicking sound like 3-4 times
