This scooter is THE BEST! It is so easy to put together. I'm 10 and I built it in 2 minutes! Here is a tip, when you are going down a hill fast don't press down on the break really hard or the back wheel will stop completely, and your front wheel will keep going. Then the scooter will slide and it will be very hard to control.
This auntie loves her scooter it's great quality, very smooth riding and nothing beats being able to enjoy some quality time with her niece and nephew at the park.
I'm 6ft tall 200 pounds and all these scooters hold me fine. The A5 air is a little to low. The carbon lux is too high. The A5 lux is just right . The A5 air is the smoothest but the slowest. I have 5 kids and none of them like the carbon lux because of the deck height. I got the 2 A5 lux scooters on sale for $59. They are the best scooter for the money. The A5 air was $130 and it's my least favorite.
This is a great scooter for sidewalk and street. It also is good in a skate board park. My six year old nephew loves it because of the big wheels and is more sturdy than the scooters with smallers wheels. I am a mature adult (71 yo and weigh 230#) and I use it for short trips to the store or coffee shop. It crosses trolley tracks safely and handles sidewalk cracks well as long as the handles are firmly gripped. An excellent value.
I bought this for my 5 year old son. To my surprise, he can ride the scooter with out any difficulty! He has no problem riding over sidewalk cracks or bumps from uneven pavement. He literally glides around on it. My son is 3 feet 9 inches tall and it is the perfect height. I pulled the scooter out of the box, followed the instructions and my son started riding on it immediately. There is no assembly or any tools needed. It does fold in half for small storage. The kickstand doses hold up the scooter. My son will have this for many years. As he grows, I can adjust the handle bars to accommodate his height. I am extremely happy with his scooter and would recommend this to anyone!
I (now) have 5 different versions of this scooter. Yep, you read that right! I have the Shining Red A5 (bought in 2010), the Caribbean Blue A5 (bought in 2014), and the Carbon Black A5, Black Label A5 (Special Limited Edition), and now this Galaxy Pink A5 (all 3 bought this year!) This new Galaxy Pink A5 Lux (my special nickname for it) continues to prove the awesome quality from Razor, just like the one I bought before it. The ride is nice and smooth, thanks to the 'adult' wheels, the chassis is low-slung for better cornering (the Carbon Black rides higher), and......well...... JUST GET ONE. Your kids will LOVE it. YOU will LOVE it. You will STEAL IT BACK from your kids, given how much fun you're having with it! And just a little obvious advice: treat this scooter with kindness, and it will pay you back GENEROUSLY. Have babied my Shining Red A5 from 2010, and to this day, my SR A5 rides just as good, if not BETTER, than the rest of my fleet. Keep in mind, the A5 Lux is a cruiser, meaning you get on it and go. It is NOT designed for tricks.....although you can try! I DIDN'T. BUY ONE. HAVE FUN. And most of all, BE SAFE!!
I bought this for my girlfriend so she could ride it at the waterfront while I skateboard. I enjoy riding it to! It's a really fun scooter and the larger wheels are great for when you hit those cracks and bumps.
Love the color, my boys have had 2 of the blue versions of this scooter taken by accident at school as everyone has the blue ones, no one else has pink, distinctive so less likely to be taken by accident by another kid. Also folds easily and is sturdy
It is all aluminum scooter so it is very lightweight at 8 lbs. I got the silver one and I love how sleek it looks also. But that is the only plus in my opinion. It might just be the me being nit picky or maybe i got a bad batch but it is just too noisy and clunky in my usage. When folded the handle bar has a lot of give and can hit the back wheel fender used for breaking. It sounds like nails on a chalk board and if I were to take it on a train or bus it would probably be rattling a bunch. The next issue is the closing mechanic. I have the same type of closing latch on my carbon lux scooter which is also Razor but i have an issue opening and closing with this scooter. For some reason it takes multiple tries to open it and I usually have to use both hands to open. I think the handle being lose makes it move out of the right angle to open and close right. The latch noise clicking into place is also very loud. However beside those issues it I would steel recommend. I am going to keep the carbon scooter and return this one but I think with a few mods it could be a great buy. Riding was fun and i think it being light also helps with rolling over bumps and the breaks work fine.
Gets me places, hard to open, annoying to carry, comes in handy when I dont want to walk, goes fast..
