I have twin 7-year-old nieces, and they ride smaller Razor kick scooters when we go to the park near my house. Feeling sorta left out, I wanted to find a scooter that would be appropriate for a 'kid' who is 5'11" and 165 pounds. I was browsing at Toys R Us when I found the A5. The store did not have a demo model set up so I decided to purchase it and give it a try. Assembly was easy, though the tires do need to be aired up right out of the box (be sure to have a pump or compressor). The scooter is quite well-sized for my build and weight. It feels really solid, and with pneumatic tires the ride is very soft and smooth. No squeaks or rattles...it just glides silently along on the pavement as fast as you can kick it. I consider this silence to be a safety feature, as it allows the rider to better hear today's quieter cars when they are approaching. I love it! To my surprise, I had a couple of kids actually compliment it when I was riding it to the park for the first time. But I am afraid I made a mistake. I let my nieces try it out, and now they each want one! So I may just end up having to buy two more, but now at least I know they are worth my money. And they are worth yours, too!
I am a fan of the product and its a fun item for kids and for adults.
not sure why this is not in the description, but i think one of the best things about this scooter is that it folds!! they have other scooters with air tires (that don't fold) and other adult size scooters that fold (but have hard skinny wheels), but this is the only one with both awesome features...
I 52 years old and 225 pounds. I bought the A5 air to ride with my grand child. We ride up and down hills. She's 3 years old and I purchased her a kids razor. I bottom out the A5 air when I got it to test what the reviews were saying about it. And to test the build quality because of all the negative reviews. It's the smoothest ride I've ever had on a scooter and I ride in the grass and messed up roads. The build quality is awesome but there is a few things I would modify: 1. For the height I would change the tire height to 10 or 15 to handle speed bumps. 2. Length to 25 or 27 3. Width to 6 or 7 4. Make the T bar 2 inches taller 5. Add a hand break 6. Add a carrying strap 7. Make the weight limit 300lbs I know you can find changes on a BMX style one but that one isn't convenient for me. I want be able to fold it up when I go to the office or class to put it under my desk. I wish you had made A5 Air when I lived in Seoul Korea. Those hard plastic wheels hurt my hands and were uncomfortable on different surfaces. If you make one with my modifications you can name it the A5 air plus or A5 air 2.0. Thank you for product that's a great joy to ride. If you guys ever need a product tester. Please feel free to contact me. Sincerely Najee
Super smooth, and easy to ride. After all the times I rode scooters this was the best, and it can even ride on top of dirt!
We would have rated this a 5, but after riding it for about 2 weeks, the brake has begun to make a loud screeching sound when used. My daughter loved this over her previous scooters, but is pretty upset about the sound it makes when she uses the brake. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best scooter I have ever used. It has a perfect quality. It rides great and it can be folded.
Generally, the product looks like it is designed for kids, not adults. Even though it can stand up to 100 kg, the only brake (on back wheel) has low to none efficiency. It's kind of a mixed package: rides well, but some features are not designed as well as they should be.
Came with the flat tire and that was it, but everything else was perfectly fine
The clearance on this scooter is way too low! Beware if you live in an older neighborhood with uneven sidewalks. The scooter constantly bottoms out, scraping on the pavement and causing the rider to stop abruptly. My son has to literally jump off or fall. It's so bad that he cannot ride it.
