We had this new microwave for 2 weeks now and it has been all we hoped for. It replaces an older model Whirlpool. I checked the dimentions before ordering and it was the perfect replacement. My wife thinks the fan is even stronger. Look sleek with the stainless steel outline and even the notification sound is fun. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this a few weeks ago & absolutely love all the features this microwave has to offer. With my holiday baking the Soften/Melt feature is the Greatest. To be honest, Whirlpool was never a brand that I'd initially considered when replacing my 21 y/o GE OTR microwave. After lots of research, my Consumer Reports subscription finally verified all the good reviews I'd read online, listing the Whirlpool as a good choice among several major brands. The interior is huge (my son-in-law says that there's a "lot of real estate in there") and heatens things up quickly and evenly. The finish really is fingerprint resistant, so my OCD self hasn't had to spend hours cleaning up smudges. The window is big enough that, at 5'7, I can easily see inside, unlike most of the other brands that have minimized theirs to the point where they might as well have eliminated the window. People shouldn't have to be taller than 6 feet to observe what they're heating. The interior cleans up quickly and easily, but is just a bit darker than I'm used to due to the silver-toned easy clean finish rather than the white interior I'd been used to all these years. It's not a problem I can't live with, however. The exhaust fan is fairly loud on high, but extremely effective, which is the more important feature for me. We cook a lot of foods with intense spices, as well as seafood, so exhausting the odors outside is a priority here. I also like having a choice of 4 speeds + OFF, rather than just the High or Low options on our former GE. The door feels very sturdy and closes tightly, with no cheap, 'tinny' feel to it. The microwave installed perfectly into the space formerly occupied by my 30" GE, but extends a bit deeper out past our cabinets by 1.5-2", and is a bit taller by about an inch as well. Neither of these measurements has interfered with the operation of nearby cabinets at all. I've only been operating this new appliance for a short time, and I'm still getting used to all the options, but I'm 99% satisfied with the choice of this model/brand. The only (very minor) downsides are that: 1.) I miss the ease of 'instant' buttons (#s 1-6 made my selection with just one speedy press previously). This model's only instant button gives you 30 seconds at a time, so there are still multiple presses required. 2.) I wish that the lighting under the bottom was either moved to the front where most of the actual cooking takes place or split into 2 areas to cover more of the larger cooking surface on most newer stoves, and also made a bit brighter. And, 3.) I wish that the "off" setting for the turntable would remain that way until it was intentionally turned back to "on", rather than the way it currently defaults back to "on" mode after each use. Again, though, these are not issues that I can't live with because I realize that there will always be some features that are a trade off within the majority of appliances. In the end, I'm enjoying my choice more each day and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I purchased this for our new home a month ago now and I'm in LOVE!! Where has this been all my life! The features are amazing and my kids can easily heat leftovers after school with the easy push presets. When we cook the vent automatically turns on no thinking involved. I truly am looking forward to playing with it I know we have only began to scratch the surface of the smart feature!!! I truly recommend for anyone weather your single,mingling(..lol..), young,old,or a growing family as mine! The ease of use and style makes this AMAZING!! I promise you won't regret your purchase!! I've had this not even a year now and a small panel on the top of the inside of the microwave has melted. Other than that's it's been great to us but to melt only after minimal use is very disappointing. Is there a place I could purchase a new part or will I have to buy a whole new unit? Also having this meltage will it be dangerous to use?

Having said that, it's beautiful, simple to use, nice and big inside and my dog loves the ding tune when her food is warm. My appliance repairman says all microwave latches breakdown which is why we had to replace the prior one. Bummer! We'll see how this one goes. All in all a good purchase.
We bought this microwave in May 2019 and I was so happy to switch from Samsung to Whirlpool. I thought we were buying a quality microwave that would last for a long time. We're incredibly disappointed that it quit working today saying the main power relay board has a short. As I was searching online, I found lots of reviews about this microwave failing and Whirlpool not doing a recall. I'm feeling really angry that we already need to replace it and microwaves are even more expensive now. Whirlpool has failed us. Stand behind your products, Whirlpool.
