The ONLY criticism I can give on this dock, is that the cover portion for the 2.5" drive is always open (it's just a cutout) so dust is a worry if not used often and left on the workbench. Other than that little quirk, this thing is heavy, in a good way. My last few docks were lightweight plastic and moved too easily. This is a more solid build, has dedicated power switch, and just works on every platform I've connected it to. :) Data transfers are fast, SMART checks work as well. Great dock for doing drive diagnostics without having a SATA cable sticking out from something. Note that the slight flaring from top to bottom is a nice touch too. Makes it even more stable when testing out a wonky 3.5 drive. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.
I have been happily using this device for a couple of years, but the device is only been used 5-6 times per year. Only compliant is the door that broke early on... Looking for a USB 3.1 version to double my transfer rate on work PC that now sports USB 3.1. So nice to find the USB 3.1 doco elsewhere here that helped show the difference.
