Today I'm going to review the Instant Pot IP-DU060 Stainless Steel 6-Quart 7 in 1 Multi Functional Pressure Cooker. The Instant Pot comes with the Main base and control panel, A lid, Cooking pot made from food grade 304 stainless steel highly polished, And accessories inside of the cooking pot, A steaming rack. A small plastic stirring spoon and ladle , A quick start guide, A user instruction manual, And a recipe book. After reading the user manual. I see the Instant Pot is a 7 in 1 multi cooker good for Pressure cooking, Slow cooking, Steamer, Rice cooker Porridge maker,Yogurt maker and warmer, Saute/Browning,. On the front of the Instant Pot is a nice large easy to see control panel. That illuminates the color red when the appliance has been plugged into an electric outlet. The control panel has programmable micro processor settings for time delayed starts and cooking times for slow cooking. Along with auto start features. There's a quick start guide. I recommend reading the user manual first. To read about how to use and program the control panel. The Instant pot has 10 safety feature and sensors combined. Reading the user manual on the safety features Will make your cooking experience safe in the kitchen. There's a first time water test to get a feel for using the Instant Pot. I did the water test and first time use I could smell a new electrical appliance scent coming from the Instant Pot That went away after the first use. It's also very quiet while its cooking. I've never used or owned a pressure cooker, Or steamer before So this is a new experience in cooking for me. I'm just starting out with the Instant Pot. I've been cooking soups, sauces and experimenting with the steamer rack. I'm looking forward to making my first pot of chili with the Instant pot, I've been reading the recipe book that comes with it. There's a of meals I want to try that sound good. The Instant Pot Seems to be durable and high quality. I look forward to using the Instant Pot a lot more in the future. It gets easier to use the more I use it. There's a lot more information on the Instant Pot site at instantpot.com for more accessories, Replacement seals, Help video's, Support, and Recipes
I received the Instant Pot IP-DU060 stainless steel 6-Quart 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure cooker to give my honest opinion. I have never owned a pressure cooker before, but while watching commercials on the television, I wanted to get one, but just never got around buying one. So when I saw the opportunity to review the Instant Pot Ip-Du060 pressure cooker, I was so glad to be blessed with the opportunity to review such a great product. So far I have only used the Instant Pot IP-DU060 pressure cooker to cook some brown parboiled rice. When I first open the original package, I was surprised to see how big the Instant Pot IP-DU060 pressure cooker really is. It came with a spoon to stir whatever you decide to cook, and it also came with an instruction manual and a recipe booklet. I thought it may have been complicated to use the Instant Pot IP-DU060 pressure cooker, because of how beautiful it is, but I was able to cook some delicious rice just by pressing a few buttons. What I really like about the Instant Pot IP-DU060 pressure cooker is how convenient it was to simply put in my rice and some water (you got to be careful with how much water or else the rice will be sticky) and then press some buttons and walk away, without worrying about my rice burning as it did when I cooked in my regular pot. I would definitely recommend the Instant Pot IP-DU060 pressure cooker to anyone who wants to make delicious meals but to also not have to worry about burning down your home. I am going to try frying a whole chicken.
The Instant Pot IP-DUO60 Stainless Steel 6-Quart 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker is a great addition to our kitchen. If you're cooking a Beef Stew you can sear the Beef cubes right in the Cooker and then add the Vegetables and Broth and close the Pressure cooker and after the cooking time is up enjoy a perfect Beef Stew with tender Beef. It also works great for cooking creamy Mushroom soup from scratch. There's a sauté feature as well and it cuts down on the amount of pots and pans needed on the stovetop to sauté the Mushrooms and Onions. But my most favourite feature is for cooking Rice. The Instant Pot IP-DUO60 Stainless Steel 6-Quart 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker is perfect for making sticky Rice just like it's served in Chinese Restaurants. I love Jasmine Rice and it came out so perfect I was tempted to use my Chopsticks but couldn't find them at the time. And it's so much easier than cooking the Rice on the stovetop. Just put the Rice and the Water in the Cooker, close the Lid and after warming up the timer starts for the Rice and it is much faster than stovetop, less than 15 mins for my 2 cups of rice. Granted, the Instructions that came with the Instant Pot IP-DUO60 Stainless Steel 6-Quart 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker were a bit confusing in the beginning until I read them a few times to make sure I'm putting the Lid on correctly and remembered how to use the pressure valve. But once you're familiar with all the Settings and Buttons and how to safely remove the Lid after the cooking cycle is done, it's so easy to operate the Cooker and I can't believe I didn't get myself one of these Cookers sooner. The only little downside, you'll have to wash the sealing ring really well and let it dry nicely before using again, otherwise it will smell like whichever food you've cooked last. This week I'll be trying out the Yogurt feature. But to me this Pressure cooker is a must in my kitchen now, alone for the fact that it cooks perfect Beef Stew, lovely creamy Mushroom soup and most of all, perfect Jasmine Rice. So overall this Instant Pot IP-DUO60 Stainless Steel 6-Quart 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker is a wonderful addition to our kitchen and I would definitely recommend it.
I have used this everyday since purchasing . I hardly use my oven or stove anymore at all and put my slow cooker in the storage cabinet in the garage. My sister has used hers to make gourmet meals while camping. It's great if you need to throw a meal together in a hurry. Many healthy recipes are available online. My sister have made cheese cake in theirs. We all sound like infomercials when we talk about our instant pots! Soup in 30 minutes!
It is an overall well designed and constructed electric pressure pot. The pot come with everything you need for the 7 functions to work. COOL: the first thing I tried is to cook beef stew following recipe from the instant pot website. During whole cooking process, the outside of the pot just touch warm, except to is a little bit hotter, but still safe to touch for adults. For families like me with children, this is much safer than traditional stove top pressure pot. EASY TO CLEAN: The next recipe I tried is smoked ham porridge using slow cook function. I use the same recipe for years for family breakfast with slow cooker. My old slow cooker has a ceramic inner pot, it works well but the cleaning job is kind challenging. On the other hand, instant pot has a stainless steel inner pot, the porridge is perfect, just as my old slow cooker did. And the cleaning process is much more easier. The surface is so smooth, no residues left just after rinsed with warm water. CONVENIENT: each time when you turning the cover to lock or unlock position, instant pot will alarm you the right position is reached, no more guess work. OTHER THOUGHTS: The power cord is not detachable, a little inconvenient for long time storage or clean the outside of the pot. No matter which function you are using, the cook time and pressure is very easy to adjust even during cooking. Another useful function is “24-hour delayed cooking” for busy working parents.
Holy guacamole….. my anxiety is so bad that I freaked out reading the instructions… but I just cooked four chicken breasts in 12 minutes and it was done and juicy and I need like 10 of these bad boys! Get your spouse one ASAP if your tired of waiting 8 hrs for food 🤣 I’m in love!!!!!! Best invention ever! Also my picture is not that good but I looked up a recipe online how to make your chicken in these and boy oh boy. I’m going to gain about 700 lbs with how fast this cooks 🤣
Received my Instant Pot IP-DUO60 Stainless Steel 6-Quart 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker and right away started preparing it to use! The Instant Pot is a seven-in-one programmable cooker. You can combine the options of a pressure cooker, rice cooker, steamer, slow cooker, saute/browning, and warmer. With an easy press of a button, you can cook your favorite dishes within a fraction of the time compared to the conventional method of cooking. The lid will conveniently rest on either the left or the right pot handle and is easy to insert and remove. The inner pot is stainless steel and very durable. There is no health concerns of non-stick coating material. You can cook a complete meal in a fraction of the time it would normally take. I chose the larger pot. The bowl that goes inside the pot is large and very easy to clean. Not heavy like crock pots. It is removable, looks like a mixing bowl! My first test was to cook some frozen baby lima beans. Put the frozen beans in the pot, added water to cover, set for BEANS, then for 5 minutes (you may have to test the time for whatever you cook, although a recipe book is included to advise on cooking times of most items) then choose PRESSURE cook. The unit preheats. In my case it took maybe 5 minutes to preheat. It will notify you when it starts the cooking process and does a timer countdown. Once finished, it goes to OFF mode and keeps the food warm until you unplug on push CANCEL. Warms food up to 10hours. Then I tried some frozen black-eyed peas that turned out perfect!! One thing I was amazed at and loved, is at how very QUIET the cooker is. Most pressure cookers make a lot of noise. Not this one. I was wondering if it was even cooking! The beans turned out perfect!! Also, with this pot you are not scared of using the pressure cooking part as some pressure cookers. I don’t usually leave item’s like this out on the counter, but this pot is so nice looking, I have it out on my counter. I plan to use it often!!
What is not to love about my new sparkling, gleaming 6qt Instant Pot? I got this at a very good Black Friday price also so bonus. This is an upgrade from my 3qt pot, as I really needed the room. I am right now pressure cooking some beautiful bone in ribs I just got delivered from Walmart Plus! This is a must have for your kitchen and such quality is rare. Stainless steel pot and just beautiful dinners will come out of this. Happy with it! Thank you Walmart and Instant Pot!
I have never used a pressure cooker before and have mostly been afraid to try due to hearing stories about how dangerous they are. This cooker, being electric, seems like a safe introduction to this cooking method. I’m not very fond of stainless steel anything in the kitchen, so although it doesn’t affect the function of the cooker, it gets a big thumbs down from me for exterior design. Right out of the box, I realized there is going to be a bit of a learning curve to use this device. As I began reading the user’s manual, there are a lot of instructions to keep in mind for safety as well as use for each of the cooking methods. Fortunately, the instructions are only a few short pages in English and the rest of the booklet is dedicated to other languages. I was happy to see a cookbook included, but I am a little disappointed that there aren’t a lot of recipes. Also, the instructions are not very clear on the weight of some foods. For example, it says in the cooking chart that a whole chicken takes 20-25 minutes (total, not per pound), but it doesn’t state the weight of the chicken to begin with. Fortunately, you can go online and search for “electric pressure cooker recipes”. The first thing I experimented with was a pound of brown rice. The booklet gives ratios of water to rice (and beans, etc) and it was spot on for the whole pound. I have never been able to make great rice because I am impatient and always open the lid. This pressure cooker, from start to finish, took under 30 minutes and the rice is perfect. It was actually much more simple that I thought! I also chopped up some boneless, skinless chicken breasts to test the saute function and was very pleased that it was so quick and easy. Also, the stainless steel pot is easy to clean. I am looking forward to cooking many things in this pressure cooker. It’s fast, easy and so convenient.
Let me start with the fact that pressure cookers scared me. I always wanted to try using one but did not want to invest in something that could cause a serious injury in my kitchen. After trying Instant Pot Cooker my fears dissipated. Keep in mind that with any appliance under pressure you should follow safety precautions to the tee so please read your user's manual before using IP. In order to test IP I decided to make a dish I find extremely difficult to make: beef stew. My husband loves it, I love it but no matter how many different recipes I try my beef is always tough and chewy. So I made beef stew in IP and it worked perfectly! First I used saute function to brown the meat then pressurized it for 15 minutes added veggies and another 15 minutes under pressure. That simple and the meat was "melt in your mouth tender" with perfect potatoes and carrots. A little about the appliance itself: 7 functions and you can read about them in the item description. 6 qt capacity makes it a bit on a heavy side with taking up some counter space, comparable to stand mixer. Stainless steel insert is very easy to clean by hand and it is dishwasher save. Display is easy to read even with quite few pre-programmed function buttons that make it look a little busy. Releasing pressure requires caution but it is simple and after reading users manual I knew what to expect in terms of a loud hiss. A beeping sound alerts you when cooking is done. I also made some Greek yogurt and it came out a bit liquid straight from the IP so I put it in the fridge overnight then strained it and it's perfect consistency. I am so excited I can get rid of my slow cooker and have rice cooker, yogurt maker, pressure cooker etc. all in one on my counter whenever I like. There are few Facebook pages for IP community with recipes, reviews and advice from owners of pressure cookers so if you're trying to decide if IP is for you you can check there as well.
