UL Certified CAT6 Ethernet Cable

The Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is an organization that has established safety standards for electrical devices and components for over a century. Currently, they evaluate more than 70 different wire and cable product categories across the world to establish safety and performance compliance.

Advantages of CAT6

The foremost advantage of a CAT6 (or Category6) ethernet cable is its transfer speed capabilities. CAT6 cables can transfer up to 10 Gbps (gigabytes per second). This is a drastic improvement over CAT5e cables, which can handle up to 1 Gbps.

Higher Frequency

The additional speed provided by this CAT6 cable is mostly due to an increase in frequency. A cable's frequency is essentially the rate at which data can be sent through the wires. This is measured by the number of cycles per second (Hz or Hertz). A CAT5e ethernet cable, for example, has a frequency of 100 MHz (megahertz).
