[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like my GE Coffee Maker. The stainless steel carafe keeps the coffee warm. It has a reusable filter for the coffee grounds and also has a filter for the water. Comes with a clock so you can set it to go off when you want. You can brew a whole pot or just brew one cup. It also has a bold brew setting if you like your coffee stronger. It also has a descale button for cleaning. It's the perfect size for my family and the coffee taste great!
Exactly what I needed for my writing room. The carafe keeps the coffee hot. I simply brew and then take the carafe to my desk and drink as needed. I love this coffee pot.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coffee maker has it all! I can make a full pot of coffee or just 1 cup. I like that I can set the time for brewing and when I wake up my coffee is ready for me. The stainless steel carafe keeps the coffee nice and hot for hours. I also like that I can store the cord in the back of the pot when unplugged. This coffee maker is beautiful and really stands out on my countertop. I love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The most fantastic thing about this maker is the fact that the carafe is stainless steel and appears to be vacuum insulated. Even though I haven't located any product documentation to support this. The coffee will stay hot for a very long time (hours). We use ours in the RV. It's very handy to brew inside and take the pot out to the picnic table.
good 👍 coffee makers i just haven't figure out how to make a single cu
So far, so good. The coffee tastes great, it's easy to use, and it looks sharp.
The design of the coffee maker is nice, but the carafe slides off the stand to easily, and the lid is tricky to adjust. Also the very top of the machine lid does not stay up on its own to allow us to put in the water or coffee grounds.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got the GE G7CDABSSTSS 12-Cup thermal stainless steel drip coffee maker. OOB you get the coffee maker, stainless steel carafe, titanium-plated metal filter with micro mesh filter basket, reusable wand, charcoal filter, and instructions. What I Liked: The unit, and the carafe, is mostly stainless steel, which looks nice on any counter and is fairly easy to clean. The cord storage is a nice option in that we keep our coffee maker on the counter. GE included a reusable filter basket. But, you can always remove the filter basket and use #4 paper filters. GE also added a charcoal water filter, with reusable filter wand, to help remove any water taste and/or impurities. You can easily see, using the indicator on the side of the machine, how much water you've poured in/have left in the reservoir. The unit has an easy-to-read display (with a nice muted blue readout that is soft on the eyes, especially in the wee hours of the morning) with easy-to-read and simple-to-use buttons. In addition to being able to change temp, program your time and brew delay, set a bold brew, and start or cancel the current brew cycle, GE provided a button that both allows you to adjust the amount of coffee you can brew into a cup (1-4 cups), vs. the carafe, and, for those with harder water, the button also sets a descale cycle to clean the internal components. Regarding brewing and use, again, you can adjust the brew cycle to accommodate 1 to 4 cups of coffee, vs. having a full 12 and potentially wasting grinds. For a full 12 cups, brew time was just under 10 minutes. You can program the coffee to brew whenever you'd like… no need to get up and press brew. Set up your filter, grinds, and water… then set your timer and let the GE coffee maker (with integrated showerhead design, vs a simple straight channel, for more even coffee ground saturation) do the work. The unit has a timer and temp-adjustable keep warm plate (with non-stick easier-to-clean surface for burned on coffee), which lets you set the plate to a lower temp for iced coffee, medium so it's ready to drink without burning your mouth, and high to prep the brew for milks, cream, and/or keeping it hotter for the trek to work. The plate can be set to hold the desired temperature for 1 to 4 hours (with 2 hours being the OOB setting). The coffee maker's footprint (at 12”x15”X8”) isn't all that bad. And, finally, something most people don't even consider but which gives the unit a more “finished” quality, GE added rubber feet to support the coffee maker… lessening vibration and potential counter slippage as you use the carafe throughout the day. What Could be Better: The carafe, while sturdy and offering a locking lid, to ensure that it doesn't fall off while pouring water into the reservoir or coffee into your cup, is very difficult to use. First, even with the locking lid off, using the carafe to pour water into the reservoir is difficult. You cannot get all of the water to flow out of the carafe into the reservoir without holding the carafe completely upside down. The shape of the carafe, and the fact that the reservoir lid doesn't “lay back” enough to accommodate the carafe's pour, makes what should be an otherwise easy process difficult. Regarding brewing, while the coffee does stop flowing when you remove the carafe during a brew cycle, when you once again place the carafe under the filter basket mid-brew, the coffee flows so quickly out of the filter basket that the carafe can't fully accommodate the flow. Coffee spills over the carafe hole and onto the outer portion of the carafe lid. And, while pouring water into the reservoir without the carafe lid in place is difficult, pouring coffee into a cup with the locked lid in place is even more so. The locking lid restricts the coffee flow as you pour… resulting in a dribbling into your cup vs. a smooth pour. Finally, the clincher, my particular unit simply did not make a good cup of coffee. I cleaned the unit and all components, as described in the instructions. My wife and I always use high-quality, freshly roasted, and freshly ground grinds – ground using a high-quality conical grinder for the particular brew method that we plan to implement. Starting with fresh grounds, I tried brewing with the micro mesh filter and without (using a non-bleached #4 filter). I tried regular brew and bold. When I ran into taste issues, I tried increasing the coffee “dosage,” more than typically required in a brew. And, I always use filtered water (despite the pre-filter in the reservoir). Regular brew resulted in a muted flavor. Bold, which should ensure that the grounds are steeped longer, resulted in a “sour” taste… not “bitter,' (the latter of which is at least somewhat tolerable), but truly “sour.” Sour coffee is usually the result of bad grounds (which ours are not) and/or a too-short brew time. The Bold setting should lengthen the brew time, but, oddly, it did seem to shorten it. Either way, no amount of adjustment to any step in the brew process made the final brew any better. Worth Buying?: In my particular situation, no. The GE G7CDABSSTSS 12-Cup thermal stainless steel drip coffee maker definitely has its “pros” – which at least warrants two stars. But, with the combination of the overly difficult-to-use carafe, and, at least with my particular unit, the fact that I simply could not get it to produce even a passable cup of coffee results in a pass.
I purchased this coffee maker to replace mine that quit working. Unfortunately this coffee maker does not keep coffee warm long - so you got to drink your coffee quickly if you want it hot. The carafe is nice, but the spout just dribbles coffee out. I would NOT recommend this coffee maker to my friends and family. Definitely NOT worth the price I paid. I would return it, but Walmarts return policy is ridiculous!
the 1 cup function does not work correctly
