I bought this a short time ago and was going to wait till spring to use it. But I couldn't wait I wanted to see how good it worked! Needless to say it was AWESOME!!! Really can't wait to use it again in spring!!! It removed a ton of dead grass on the highest setting. My lawn looked really good when I was done!!! You really need this for your lawns!!! I recently purchased Electric Dethatcher. What a great job it did. My grass is greener with better growth A must for all home owners [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I just received mine. Cleaned up my entire yard with all the ease could be. So much better then paying some one to do it. Can control how much and how good I want it done ✅
First off, this thing is an animal! I can't say how much I enjoyed using this unit over the past 4 days. I have a pretty good sized yard, and it was a MESS after this past brutal North Dakota winter. It took some getting used to especially regarding the depth of the tines, but once I got around that issue, all it did was WORK. It did an excellent job & I'm very happy that I purchased the unit. Highly Recommended. ***Picture is of my front yard after using this Dethatcher. Now all we need is some rain to green things up*** [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I am a novice at this. Since I did not know what I was doing, this was what I needed to use. I think clearing the air intake grills was important. Don't be in a hurry. Mine turned out great.
I just bought this at the beginning of March and was able to use it a couple weeks ago. It did great on areas that my grass was low level. Saved me long hours by instead of my Dethatcher rake. I bought it because I have a torn shoulder and didn’t want to strain it any further. The only problem I did have that it shut off three times. Each time I had to wait for at 30min or more before it would turn on again. For my thicker grass I had to raise up the wheel otherwise it was making it work too hard. It was a little hard to push as well. I also did my front and backyard on different days to prevent overworking it. I used level 2 in my front yard. It was still struggling and shut off. Prior to this. I mowed my yard as low as it could go without butchering it. I didn’t use the bag attachment because as much stuff that was coming up I would’ve been stopping too much to unload it. So I used my bag mower to clean up the excess debris. It was much faster that way. Also, the extension cord was always in the way as well. Comes with the territory of a plug-in device. Other pretty handy.
I bought a few weeks ago and it was easy to assemble and get dethatching. I did one vertical and one horizontal pass on setting 2 and 2 more passes on setting 3 using a 100ft cord. The pictures attached show more dead grass using the lower level 3. I did have the issue with it shutting off after a period of time. I would just go and rake and then try again. The belt did squeal at times too. I found with cord management to start closest to the outlet and work away. My height is 6 foot and the handle was a comfortable level.
I received the dethacher late Thursday, I used it the next day. It lasted about 20 minutes then the blade quit spinning. I unplugged it, turned it upside down and saw that grass had spun around both ends of the blade connectors. Only thing to do was take it apart and clean everthing up. It was not easy to remove the blade. The website has zero replacement blades. No replacement washers. You can see from the photos the plastic does not hold up. Sooo, disappointed. It's not for use on St. Augustine grass here in south Texas. Going to have to return. Sooo, disappointed
Worked great for the first season. Ran 10 minutes today and died. Junk.
I purchased the WG850 at my local Canadian Tire. I returned it two hours later. Upon opening the box sand appeared everywhere. I removed the cover and vacuumed all sand that could be seen. When I started the motor it lasted 5-10 seconds before burning out. It is interesting that the bag full of sand that ruptured seems that it is supposed to be there. Maybe to give this unit some weight??
