I bought this with the intention of doing my own work shirts. A bit of a learning curve but paired with a good digitizing software and a few weeks of tutorials on youtube and several tests I am now confidently printing my logo'd workshirts. I have created from scratch my RC club logo. As a 57 year old I am a 100 percent newby in regards to sewing and embroidery. I could not be happier with my experiance and the machine.
It seems to do everything I need and more 😊 I am enjoying the learning process 🤩
I love this machine. It is easy to learn. I watched a few tutorials on utube so it was very easy to operate. I do wish it would take a 5 x 7 hoop as well.
Excellent machine and easy to use. I wished that I would have gotten a larger embroidery surface.
Love my machine! It’s a great starter machine for people just starting in machine embroidery. I love that it’s a normal sewing machine too so if you ever need to travel with it it’s all in one!
I LOVE this machine! Stitches beautifully, easy to use. My only regret is that I didn't get one with a bigger hoop size.
I was skeptical but after losing vision in my one eye was having a really hard time threading and dealing with my old machine they I read that this machine self threads and also don't have to fish out the bobbin thread I saw this machine that does both automatically and also had embroidery which I never had done and always had been wanting to do went to my local Quality Sewing and Vacuum who gives free classes no matter where you bought your machine and now I am having a wonderful time with my Brother SE700 machine sewing and learning embroidery. I have not learned all the features yet but I am so happy with this machine !!
Given the different size spools of thread available, I find it interesting that there is only a horizontal spool holder. Even using spools of normal size, I was having issues with thread snagging and causing the needles to bend or break. I went through 6 needles on one project until I figured out that I would have to purchase a stand alone, vertical spool holder... which in itself isn't a precise option as it tends to move around... but I'm sure that is because I purchased an inexpensive one.
I adore this machine, but you should be aware if you own a MAC computer it may not be for you. One of the features is the wifi abilities which would be awesome UNLESS you own a MAC computer. The data transfer program necessary to be able to wirelessly transfer the designs to the machine is only compatible with Windows systems. I reached out to Brother and they couldn't offer a solution other than the Artspira app. I used that program for about 30 days and I'm not a fan of the app for more reasons than I can mention here. Brother really missed the boat on this one. Given a the number MAC users are significant. I wouldn't have bought the more pricy model if I knew I couldn't use the wifi. Disappointed.
