I really like this clock. It took a bit to get it set-up in the right time zone. Had we just plugged it in and let it it would have set itself. But after a couple nights we mastered it. Also figured out by plugging it in, rather then run it on the batteries the projection shows on the ceiling all the time. I have a hard time seeing the clock without my glasses so this is easy for me to see. Also it is nice to get up in the morning and already know the temp outside. I know what to wear before I get up. I thought it might both being there on the ceiling but it doesn't both at all. I would buy another one or give as a gift to someone.
I bought one of these a few years ago and have been so impressed that I bought 3 more for our sons homes as gifts when I saw them again at Sams. They all love it.
For the cost of this clock I have no complaints. I previous owned one that I spent $60ish on. This one is compact compared to the other, but other than that it has about all the same functions. The only complaint is although this one has a 360 tilt so you can position it which direction you want it to display on wall/ceiling....the other one I had actually had a dial that the 360 could be exactly positioned...not like this one 1 of 4 choice positions. It may not be as "straight" on the ceiling (its angled) I'm getting use to it, so not a bid deal. Other than that the price is MUCH better and works great! It took not quiet an hour for it to sinc with the time...but patience...it did! My $60 clock died on me so this being the replacement, I love it and would recommend it! I'm so used to seeing the time on the ceiling at night, I couldn't wait to get this!!
Great clock for projection of time onto ceiling/wall. Its not the easiest clock to set up and the alarm is about worthless; however, we use the clock stickly for the projection. We hide this clock behind one of our night stands (still projects onto ceiling) and use another small clock for the alarm. Once you have a projection clock, you can't live without them. In fact we have two at our house and anyone who stays with us asks where they can get one.
Overall, I am very happy with this item. However, I would have liked it to show both indoor and outdoor temperatures with the time instead of just the outdoor temp.
Previous reviewer didn't read the instructions. You just let the clock sit near a window & overnight it will get the atomic signal & set itself. I use it in Hawaii, & take it to the mainland, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Louisiana, & it always set itself, if not the 1st night, it did the 2nd night. Directions are probably hard to follow because the print is so small.
The instruction booklet appears to have been written by someone who has never owned one of the clocks. The clock does not detect what time zone it is located in, so you have to set that manually. Turning off the alarm is done by pushing "any button" except the snooze button. As it turn out, any button apparently is restricted on one of the three buttons on the base of the unit, so it turns into a two handed instead of a one finger operation. This is the third "Atomic" clock I have owned, has slightly fewer feature, appears to work okay but it remains to be seen how long it will last. the other two died within a month or two which were Sharper Image products that are no longer on the market!
Great idea but unable to see the clock at night unless you push a button. Led would be better. I took this item back and purchased a led clock with the same features.
We have other clocks from Lacrosse and had given several as gifts and were pleased with them. However when we received this particular model there was a problem getting a signal from the remote temperature sender. We tried new batteries, but that didn't help. After some effort we got through to Lacrosse and they sent a new sender. It too would not function from more than a foot or so from the clock and we again tried fresh new batteries. We then spent not days but weeks trying to get through to Lacrosse support but kept getting recordings and voice mail. They would respond by email asking us to call back but the cycle of recordings would continue. Even if we only earned a few dollars an hour we have wasted far more time on this than it was worth. We were looking for a clock that would display the time in large, bright, numbers on the ceiling that my husband could see in the middle of the night without his glasses. This clock did neither. The numbers were too small and light in color. so he wasn't able to read it as good as his bedside clock, so we returned it. The principal idea is good but this clock didn't work for him.
