To be honest, I had my doubts about this product staying closed. However, I used the bags thru Thanksgiving and stuffed them really full to the max, where I could just get the bag closed, They stayed closed and didn't pop open at all, no matter how many times we opened and closed them. I am really impressed with these bags. I am still using 3 of them and they are working fine, opening and closing securely each and every time. This is just what I needed. I would recommend these bags to everyone. I have used many types of bags over the years but none have worked as well as these. The zipper is easy to move, doesn't get stuck, just glides easily every time. I stuffed one of them with chex mix and it was so full I barely got it closed but it closed with ease and stayed closed, no popping open in the middle. These bags are sturdy also with just the right amount of thickness. I have not had anything puncture thru these bags. There is enough room to write the date and contents on the label of the bag. These bags are really worth the money for the convenience of being able to store food (or anything else you might want to use them for) securely and not have to worry about them opening and the objects falling out.
I am very pleased with these freezer bags. The ziplock gives a nice airtight seal. I used them to store yeast dinner rolls. They kept the freshness in and other freezer odors out. I wiped them out and have reused them. The bags are thick and help to protect foods. I did not over stuff/fill them. That never works for any brand of bag. There is an area where you may write a date and contents. I didn't need to.
We really like the Hefty Gallon Size Freezer Bags. They are extremely strong and durable. They are able to hold a large amount of things as well as heavy items. We really like how easily it is to close the zip lock bags. The bags keep food fresh in the freezer much longer than other wraps or plastic containers.
The Hefty Freezer Slider Gallon Bags are amazing. The slide is so easy to use. It is very convenient to have the white space on the front of the bag to write on. The plastic felt a bit lightweight to use as a freezer bag, but the package states freezer use so that is how I will use it. Having an arrow with the directional arrow to indicate the bag is closed is a stroke of genius. The only thing I would prefer would be a larger quantity box, 10 bags won't go very far. If the price was right I would definitely use this product.
I received the "Hefty Gallon Size Freezer Bags, 10 count" from SparksReviewer. The freezer bags are very high quality. Love the slider closure -- much easier to open and close than bags without a slider to open and close them. Very strong and do not rip easily. When I store food and put them in the freezer, the food does not easily sustain freezer burn; slider keeps the bags closed and doesn't accidentally open. Highly recommend Hefty Freezer Bags to everyone.
This review is for the Hefty Gallon Size Freezer Bags and is the 10 count box. Like you I'm sure, these bags are a staple in my home and are used for more than the freezer. I put these on all my purchased meats before I put them in the freezer as well as when I open a bag of vegetables, French fries and all of my freezer products. They are also used for dry storage, for example, my grandchildren's flash cards. I've taught to slide open the sealer, put the cards in and close the sealer; then give the bag to me because this is a plastic product. I really like these bags and I know you will and do too.
I have been using Hefty Storage Bags for many years. I tried this Freezer version to compare to the storage bags. They are definitely a thicker plastic, but I can't find the actual thickness listed on the carton. They claim to be 35% thicker than the storage bags and I tend to believe that is true just by feeling them. The thicker freezer bag would definitely do better at preventing freezer burn, especially if the bag and its contents were in the freezer for a long time. The zipper closure works smoothly and seals tight when zipping shut. The zipper clicks when you close it so you know it is sealed tight. When turned upside down with some liquid inside, the bag doesn't leak if you have heard the click. When I put a two pound package of ribs inside and turned it upside down the zipper held with no problem. Sometimes the plastic zipper slider sticks a little at the locked end and is not easy to unzip. This could be because I slammed the zipper too hard when closing it. I have tried other brands of zipper bags and always come back to the Hefty brand. I will continue to use the regular Hefty storage bags for light duty, short term storage because of the higher cost of the freezer bags. However, I will use the freezer bags when I intend to keep something in the freezer for an extended period of time.
Love these bags. We use them for everything! Storing fresh fruit after it's washed, freezing fresh baked cookies, freezing leftovers, etc. Can't live without them in the house! The family jury verdict is in... Not ONLY do I use the bags for freezing I will ONLY purchase Hefty One Zip zipper bags. The bags are thicker, the zippers are sturdy and the bags are of high quality. After trying the competitors freezer bags I found Hefty protect the contents much better than the other competitors. I love the fact the closure is a ZIPPER. The bags are easy to open and close. The plastic is strong making it easier to write on. The cheaper plastic makes it hard to write on. The bags take care of freezer needs, office and kids.
The Hefty Gallon Freezer Bags are a good product. The box contains ten gallon size freezer bags. The bags are 10 9/16 by 11 inches, and have the zipped closure. I use these for freezing only there is defrost and reheating instructions on the box if you use the bags for this purpose. Like I said I use them for freezing only. I like using the quart size also. The gallon size is good for steak, ham, pork chops, chicken or whatever purpose that you need to use them for. I wouldn't use them for other things that were not food because they are the thicker type of bag. I think if you need a bag for non food items I would use a storage bag or a sandwich type of storage bag. I would recommend them to a friend because Hefty is a quality brand.
