this phone fits my needs quite well.the resolution is not perfect but if you have the need for a higher res buy a better phone.Has a good standby time just wish the battery would last longer under heavy useage. No problems with this phone to date.Have the 100Min. 5Gig 3G web, unlimited for $30.00 a month got tired of paying sprint $80.00 a month for 400 Min. and unlimited data.Dont use that many Min, a month.Reception is good and phone is easy to use.

GREAT PHONE FOR THE MONEY!!!!

Bought this phone a few weeks ago. Put in a used and activated sim card and it worked right away. No store activation needed. Keep the excessive apps to a minimum, and close the background apps every so often, and the battery will last. Downloaded Vlingo speech app, and this phone is now a great personal assistant. It can read me my text, emails, operate other apps. It cost $149-179 on the T-mobile site and ebay...I paid $99. Ordered case and screen protector, now its bullet proof....

It is a pretty good Android phone for the price. In a case with unlimited monetary resources, there would be very expensive phones that can do better but this phone is pretty good for basic. The camera quality is quite decent and the battery life is above average. It works for my lifestyle that is on the go every so often. I would recommend this.

This is my first android phone and I love it. The phones I had in the past were only capable of making calls and text messages. I wanted to upgrade to an android but did not want to pay hundreds of dollars for a phone. I have had no problems with the phone or with TMobiles service. This is the perfect phone for me.....for texting, calls, checking email, and surfing the web, and getting the local weather and national news alerts. The only reason I didn't give this phone a perfect 5 star rating is because this phone does not have a blinking notification light to let me know I have a message just by glancing at the phone.

Solid, inexpensive, entry-level smartphone

The last no-contract smartphone I had was a non-android based, disappointing phone, so I was not very optimistic about what I would get in a contract-free Android phone. I was very pleasantly surprised. The build quality of this phone is more solid than expected (For about $100 the quality well exceeds expectations) and for boasting only a 600 mHz processor the included apps are all very responsive. Wifi connects well and is quite speedy. The included apps; Google Navigate (Phone based GPS service- Uses about 400K worth of data for each trip if maps are pre-fetched) works very well, GMail works well, Voice search works better than expected, the music app works well, The YouTube app works, but is very basic, and it comes with a mobile office suite that works. The orientation sensor works well and the speakers were louder than expected. Although the option is somewhat hidden, the phone can be used as a mobile hotspot. The screen is very responsive to touch, although when held in portrait mode makes the keyboard very hard to use, unless you have very tiny fingers. The phone is very light and small so it easily slides into a front pocket. The Samsung Dart is the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy Mini. A few corners were cut, a little cheaper battery (That only lasts 4 hours of active use), it runs Android 2.2 (FroYo) instead of 2.3 (Gingerbread), and slightly lower resolution screen, which with the size of the screen doesn't really matter, in order to keep the costs down. I was pleasantly surprised to find a mini-SD card included. The included users manual was surprisingly complete, including instructions on how to turn off packet data (Forcing data to only come from WiFi if in a hotspot- useful if you have the 30MB or no data plan) and how to turn on the option to use the phone as a hotspot. The Google Play store (The app market upgrades to this) works for adding apps; Netflix and the TV.com apps can be downloaded from the store and works well on this phone, although with the size of the screen, it may not be the best option for extended viewing of TV or Movies. The Amazon Kindle App downloads and works well, again with the size of the screen it is not ideal to read books on the phone. Basic games, like angry birds, will play on the phone. Because it is running FroYo, some of the newer apps are not available for the phone. The main reason for me choosing this phone over other no-contract Androids, was the very interesting plans- including the two $30 plans, that T-Mobile is offering. It is actually quite nice that T-Mobile allows you the option to pick the plan you want, including the 3 per day options; unlimited voice/text ($1 per day) with no data, Unlimited text/call plus 2G data ($2 per day), or 3G unlimited per day plan instead of forcing you to a unlimited everything Android plan. The 2 $30 plans are also nice; One allows 1500 minutes or texts but only 30 MB of data- if you plan to use it more like a phone, and the other is unlimited texts, data (First 5 GB at 4G speeds), but only 100 minutes of talk if you plan to use the phone more for texting/downloads. Overall, for the Sub-$130 no-contract android phone options, this one is very solid and is a huge improvement over the last contract free non-android phone I had.

Good Starter Android Phone

It does all the basic things and more that you would expect of an android phone. It uses the froyo operating system so it is not able to do some things the higher end phones can do like flash. It is good for multitasking but it is slow for some things. It has a 600Mhz processor so you can't expect high performance like from the Samsung Galaxy S3 that has a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor. But definitely great for the price. Also $118 is definitely the cheapest price online or in any store. (unless its used.)

This phone is very good for the price it costs without having to sighn up for a 2yr contract. It's a bit sluggish but overall its a decent phone, it doesnt support flash or java, or anything any in that area that requires a better ram and processor. Its a bit low on phone data space but came with a 2gb micro sdcard but could use more if your a big video, music and picture person. If you really want a flash and java implemented software you could get the better phones for 3-4x the price of this one.

Positive: It is fast and responds quickly. Some phones freeze when you try to open or close a program, this phone runs pretty smooth. The layout is well organized and easy to navigate. In my opinion, it isn't too small, too big, too hefty, or too wide; it is just as big as it needs to be. It is not cheaply put together or made...it is pretty tough so if you accidently drop it I don't think it would break, but who knows. Now the Negatives: BATTERY, BATTERY, BATTERY! When I first got this phone it didn't maintain a charge AT ALL...so I choose the optimal settings in order to try in preserve the battery life a little longer. I adjusted the brightness, adjusted my running applications, etc...but to no avail. Even with the optimal settings the battery life is absolutley pathetic. I litterally listened to two songs, while the screen was off, and it drained my battery half-way. In order to even use the phone to browse the android market I have to use it while it is plugged in...and if I go anywhere and need the battery to last I have to avoid using it all together. This phone also has problems with memory; it can only hold so many applications EVEN IF you have a SIM card or extra storage on the phone itself. It has 4 pages in the menu; after 4 pages is filled it doesn't download any more apps. At tops I think I downloaded 9 apps before a warning message poped-up and said "insufficient room". Not my cup of tea. Another thing that bugged and annoyed me is the screen settings...while on a phone call the screen goes black (I guess an attempt to save the little battery life this phone has) and there is NO WAY to adjust this setting. So in order to hang up, turn on speaker, hold, or make another call you have to either turn the phone to the side (something triggers it to come back on) or you have to press a variety of buttons. VERY ANNOYING. Overall, I would say a waste of money. This isn't exactly a cheap phone (although compared to some phones I guess it would be). Lets face it...you can't even use the thing thanks to the battery life. What good is a phone that you can't use?

T-Mobile Samsung Dart was terrible

I made sure that it was a phone that would work in my area before getting it, and was promised by T-Mobile that it would. I added my minutes and went to try the phone and nothing, no service and this was something that was very important to me with being disabled and not able to walk, I need the phone to work well and all the time. I called T-Mobile, and they stated they needed to trouble shoot it, after talking to 8 people still no working phone. I then asked for my money back on my minutes because it wasn't doing what was promised and even after the trouble shooting, and was told they don't do that. I didn't even have the phone 3 hours and they don't refund money? I was told that it was my fault for adding the minutes before trying the phone..I don't know how that's possible but I am returning the phone and T-Mobile stole the money for the minutes. I'd not try the phone if I were you, and I will never go with T-Mobile for anything!
