This is the cornerstone of my gym equipment - a cheap bag filled with sand! It is really tough for me to lift though, and feels more like a natural muscle motion than a dumbell. I'd recommend it!Only thing is you gotta go out and buy a bag of sand to fill it with. Feels really sturdy, though, and hasn't leaked any sand for me.
Great quality! I only been using it for about two week. Maybe I should call it rice bag cause I filled up with rice not Sand, and worked well, I try and do a all body work out every now and then and rice bag workout is perfect for that. I recommend youtube for some workout videos
As we all know it's very hard to get traditional weights right now, and lots of are going to be spending a long lonesome winter indoors. In preparation, I ordered this sandbag set out of the many options on Amazon - I'm not sure if its better/worse than the others but it has worked great for me. I'm not doing any crazy lifts or swinging it around like a madman, just curls, squats, lunges, etc. It has held up great for a couple of weeks with 4x 10 lb bags inside.
Awesome piece of equipment
Initially I was concerned that the bag would feel lumpy. The way the 10lb bags fit in the bag is perfect; NOT lumpy. Squats, lat raises, upright rows, travel, and much more. So far very durable. I filled mine with pea gravel, so I'll try not to knock myself out. Playground sand is probably better and truer to weight.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago because I wanted an option to workout outside and to have something that would be easy to transport to and from the park where I run. I bought the small bag with filler funnel bag and packed it full sand. It held exactly 40 lbs of sand. Very reasonable price point. High quality, most bang for your buck. Would suggest this to athletes and moms at home since you can adjust the weight even children could goof around and make working out fun.
This is my first experience with sandbags and I honestly love it! It’s such a challenge with the shifting weight of the sand pouches. I’ve had this set for about 2 months so far and it’s holding up quite well. The construction seems sturdy enough, the yellow pouches hold majority of the sand within, and the zipper retains most of the sand inside the bag.The two opportunities this set has are:1. Sand does leak out of the yellow pouches and out of the zipper. Perhaps adding a strip of Velcro on the end of the zipper flap would fix this?2. It has a lot of handles, which is great, but I wish it had a handle in the middle for single arm carry.Other than the 2 opportunities, hence docking 1 star, I say buy this thing.
Good bag for the price. This bag is meat to be carried, pressed, squared with. This is not an ultra heavy duty drag and throw bag. If you are slamming the bag on the ground a lot either the inner bags will tear or the seams will start to rip.Pro tips:Put the smaller sandbags in garbage bags. If they burst it will help contain the sand.Don’t fill the bags all the way. Fill them using a scale to get the correct weight.Use play sand, it is much finer and conforms better when doing carry exercises. If your sandbags break out of warranty, regular sandbags work just as well and are a cheap replacement.
I got this product for my son who needed it for travel hockey team work out. It is very durable and although I don’t like that we had to dump the sand in the packages without a plastic bag for easy removal but it works out well regardless. My son likes working out with this as the weight is easily able to be removed and added.
Reviewing the 6 bag 60lb version- Nice outer and inner fill bags. The outer bag has a variety of rubber grip options for different exercises, looks durable and easy to clean. The inner bags are heavy duty with double velcro. I used play sand from Lowes at 4.50 per 50lbs (I bought 2). The issue though is that I could only fit 5 of the 6 fill bags on the main bag. I even weighed them after not being able to get the 6th one in...they are 10 lb each. No way this last bag is going inside and zipping and just barely fit 5. Maybe they gave me the wrong size main bag...but keeping it anyway.
