[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installing the Rubbermaid 48-inch FastTrack Rail takes only a few minutes. This is an extremely inventive system that works with all additional Rubbermaid FastTrack rails and add-ons that are available individually. The heavy-duty steel used to construct this rail makes it durable for a long time. All of my commonly used instruments can now be found in one convenient location that is also easy to store. I adore being well-organized; after each game, I can hang my son's basketballs and even my leaf blower.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So easy to install! This system overall is super functional and help gets all the stuff up off the garage floor. The rail system is simple yet makes all the difference in the world when you are trying to create space.
I installed the 48" FastTrack rail with 1 hook for my string trimmer, 1 hook for the powerhead of my pole say, 1 universal hook for the saw section, and 1 sideways bicycle holder. All equipment fits nicely in the hooks (even that polesaw head on the universal) and the bike rack seems very sturdy and well spaced from the wall. Installation was easy for me and should be for anyone with basic construction skills. I used the hardware pack included with the rail, installing screws directly into my studs on 16" centers and using the supplied anchors between as depicted in the instructions. For extra support I installed more anchors and screws (enough to fill all the top holes and half the bottoms) since I had some hardware leftover from another project. All you need is a cordless drill, 1/8 bit, 5/32 bit, phillips bit, hammer, tape measure, and a level. The larger bit is for the supplied anchors, the hammer to drive them flush, and the smaller bit for pre-drilling the holes in the studs (makes screw installation much easier). Tape and level are to line it all up.
I just installed three 48 inch rails and one 84 inch rail. Took me all of 45 minutes. It could not have been easier. It's the most economical system on the market. I agree that the last hole on the rail does not line up but seriously, is that a huge deal??? I just made sure to use an anchor at the end and I double dup on the three other studs that I did hit, I put one screw in above and below, problem solved....I'm hanging extension cords and shovels not 100 lb. dumbbells! Love the product.
We have 3 of these and I would absolutely recommend this product. Two strips are older and we did remove them off the wall to paint and had no trouble using them again. Great quality. I'm going to get a few more attachments today since we reorganized the garage.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rubbermaid Fast Track has been a great addition to my garage. We have a lot of sporting equipment and also needed a better spot to hang my son's hockey gear in between games. The Fast Track was pretty easy to install. I was able to drill a few pilot holes and use some concrete screws I had laying around to put this up quickly. I also got a few hooks and a ball rack which easily hook into the main track. I would recommend the Fast Track if you are in need of some extra space and storage in your garage. I am thinking of picking up a 2nd one.
This was an EXTREME garage install. More than the average person would probably use. 25 rails 30 shelves Need I say more?! One of the rail caps was broken and the company replaced it with no problem. Fairly easy to install. Glad the rails were changed to have the 1" spacing between holes. The flexibility of the system is great. I was even able to create a workbench area. Had to cut some rails and shelves to size. Using a hacksaw and file, it worked well. Installed black caps on the ends of the shelves for extra safety.
What a great product...easy to install and clear the clutter in my garage. I love how everything is interchangeable and i can move things around as my needs change
Good quality and looks great. Great selection of accessories (hooks & such). The glaring defect is no endcaps - which makes an otherwise good-looking product look half finished. This then allows (as you hang/remove items) the black cover to slide along the rail, exposing the rail, further making it look half-finished. So close to be amazing...
Can someone from Rubbermaid fasttrack team proper instructions to remove the back cover off the rail. It seem impossible with out breaking it or damaging the wall.
