I spent a week breaking my back digging post holes through very rocky clay soil using a post digger and a drill mounted auger. I finally decided I had enough and bought this auger. First I was amazed at the value of all that was included and most importantly the first 24” deep hole I drilled took 10 seconds to break through that hard clay soil. I was blown away and if I could rate it 10 stars I would. If you're looking for an auger that drills through anything this is it.
Dogs diet but hurts hands great for the price make sure to put lock washers on motor because it does not have them and the bolts back out!

This auger made digging post holes a breeze. I would suggest watering the ground a couple of days before you start your work as this made it easier for the auger bit to complete each hole fast with no problems. The extension I received was a long one-piece extension instead of the three shorter and separate extensions as advertised. The longer extension made it necessary to stand on an elevated surface to complete each hole. Auger is well worth the price as it is also great for digging holes to place plants in.
I had about 24 holes to dig in a sandy soil, should have been easy. Using the 5 inch auger it lasted about 9 holes before it seemed to lose power. It just labored too much on any further tries. Just would not go deep enough. I had to get a different unit to finish.
Upon receiving, I used the post hole auger 1 time in dry ground with no problem. Second time I used this auger the air breather plastic housing, fell off while I was using it. I stopped and seen that the breather housing was broken. Can't find a contact for manufacture.
I had the bolts come out of the fuel tank, and leaked fuel over motor. Also bolts that held the gear box was falling out. This is after 2 1/2 holes dug.
Will not start, engine has some issue it seems
It was so hard to start engine. It took hours to start one time. Then can't start. The rope was too tight
Would not recommend this product. It's made very cheap. It started breaking the first time I used it. Only was able to you it to dig less than 5 holes. Tried duck taping it to hold the pieces together but didn't work. I contacted the seller and they have just been beating around the bush about the whole thing. I'm still in the process of trying to get my money refunded for this piece of equipment that is worth nothing. Don't waste your time or money in purchasing this piece of crap.
