Set up is pretty simple. But it was quite tricky getting the water primed through the hoses. Perhaps it would be good to cut the hoses to measure.
We did have some hard time assembling this by trial and error because this is our first canister filter. We couldn't pump the air out of the canister to get hoses filled with water at the beginning so my husband opened the top when we were trying to pump the air out. I guess that he didn't close the top well enough so 2 days later the filter started to leak. And I posted a question on the product listing. Some buyers answered my question sooooo thoroughly that we fixed the problem fast, which was caused by our own error when setting up the filter. Then the filter is working perfectly. Our fishes are super happy there. Water quality is amazingly good. My husband said our fish tank had never been this clean!!!!!! Hope this can really last! The built-in motor is very quiet! You almost hear nothing!!!
i got this for my 75 gallon tank. better than i thought it would ever be as compared to the big boys.the in/out valves are labeled incorrectly. no real instructions. works great with an easy change uv light. i actually bought a second one.
Great canister filter for extra media space on my reef. The spray bar %26 divertable outlet head to use to function almost as a "power head" is a great feature. Instead of just creating flow, it gives me extra bio-bed too. Lots of media tray space %26 great flow. Priming button an added plus.

I would give the seller even a 6 star rating for great customer service. The product itself - I like it a lot. Very quiet operation - you hardly can hear the unit is running, which is nice, because I have it in our TV room. Unit is robust and of great quality. Filter performance is great. Hint: when you install the hoses heat up the ends with a hair-dryer/blower - that way you can slip them easier onto the inlet/outlet sprouts. Very happy with this product
The light that comes with it doesn't have a good sealant therefore it will get wet and won't work
Uv light went out, tried replacing and it no longer works.
The canister has good pressure and was easy to hook up. The MAJOR negative is it's super noisy. It ran silent for a minutes at first then it started making this terrible high pitched sound. It was driving ten animals crazy. I've taken it apart 3 times and put it back together to the book. It just won't go away unless if you shake/move the canister back and forth, and then it just disappears for a few seconds. Total disappointment. I've seen some people say they have had zero issues with theirs . Guess I just picked a bad one
Ran quiet for a month, then started to make a loud rattling noise, I believe the impeller. I have not been able to make it stop. Really disappointed. The plastic is thin and kind of flimsy, just be careful not to mishandle it, I always pick it up from the bottom-the whole thing, not by the clamps. It is very heavy to lift out to clean as it is full of water. But it is easy to assemble, clean ect, strong flow. Just makes an awful racket.
