This will be my third set on my 2000 Honda Insight. Both prior sets got about 76,000 miles. Rotating every 7500 helps, but this is an outstanding tire, enabling the Insight to get 88 MPG regularly on the highway at 55 MPH.
These tires came stock on my 07 Subaru WRX. I live in the 6th "worst weather" city in the nation averaging 162 days of rain per year, and around 85 inches of snow each year (I'm speaking of cities not places ie city population of over 50k people...where as some place like Stowe VT gets 220 inches of snow per year but has a population of 5000)...Needless to say I do a lot of bad weather driving. < br>< br>These tires have performed well for me in the rain, snow and ice. I purchased this car last year with around 20000 miles on it, in the past year I've put on over 20k miles I have no complaints about performance. I've taken my car on many road trips to ski resorts and driven on hard packed snow with minimal slippage. Never had one problem in rain storms or heavy downpour. I do a lot of back road driving to avoid heavy construction, and because it's fun. These tires have performed with ease going around tight turns.< br>< br>Only complaint I have is the noise level of these tires on the highway and going over bumps. It can also be my vehicle, but I'd rather take a loud tire that will perform well any day.< br>< br>I've encountered many situations where I had to brake abruptly or swerve to avoid object/ animals/ or bad drivers. These tires respond well.< br>< br>Sadly the tread is wearing and with winter coming I had to purchase a new pair. I went with the Bridgestone re970as tires because of their high rating and they're half the price. All and all 42k miles on an all season tire is pretty good.
These are the OEM tires for all first generation Honda Insights, and the ONLY tire suitable for use on these vehicles. Every year or two we go through the same nonsense - Out of Stock, Back Ordered, Discontinued, Not Discontinued, Special Order. Stop the nonsense and let us buy tires for our cars when we need them rather than driving around on bald tires in wintertime.
I don't really understand why this tire has really low reviews. I'vebeen warned about this tire from another GT owner, and I'm still waiting for itto let me down. So far, this tire has been very impressive. Yes, 19,000 miles means it isn't exactly at it's mid life yet, but so far I'd say it's great. Thisis a much better running tire than my old Continental Extreme Contact tires. This tire offers a MUCH quieter/smoother ride and same contact to the Continental's, at 19,000. My wife drove our car last winter through a fresh 13 inches of snow and proceeded with absolutely no problem, considering the front end of the carbecame a snow plow. What snow tires? I would be interested in buying these again.
This is the highest mileage tire I have ever used. It does have some noise and it rides just a bit rough. I will buy again.
The Potenza RE92 in the 165/65/R14 size is a different tire than the RE92 in other sizes. I wish Tirerack had a way to note this in the reviews. The tire in this size is a low rolling resistance tire made for the 2000-2006 Honda Insight. This tire, in this size, is an incredibly fuel efficient tire, and as Insight owners know, there is no other tire that comes close to this one on efficiency. It isn't the best snow tire, but I find it more than acceptable for my purposes. I really like this tire.
Poor quality of tires. For the price I paid, I thought I was getting a good product, but are the worst tires I've used in my life, at 5.000 miles began toproduce noise, the noise now is terrible. Traction in wet conditions is no so good. I had to change the entire set.
With only 5000 miles on them I was told the next rotation they will need to be replaced.. With no mileage warranty I'm out the cost of these tires.. Will never buy them again.
Tires lasted only 22,200 miles on a properly maintained 2015 Lexus IS250....cheap tires on a so called high end car....No warranty for premature wear from Lexus...Will be contacting Bridgestone corporate tomorrow to see what answers they will give me. In the mean time I would suggest buying another brand. BTW don't do business with Lexus of Pembroke Pines, Fl.
Bought tires in April 2018 - Now it's Nov 2018 and steel belts are already showing. That's Nuts!
