The unit does record the inside temperature as well. When looking at the pic of this unit, find where the date is. You can change the date to the inside temperature. You just have to read the manual. This unit is really nice. It gives you the dew point, humidity %, wind speed and direction, outside/inside temp, barometric pressure, wind chill, weather tendency, highest wind gust, and rainfall.
This product really measures everything, I like the fact that it even does the pressure. The only thing I wished it did differently is give the real temp and the feels like temp.
This unit's outside sensors are all attached to the temperature/humidity sensor via telephone cables and RJ15 jacks. The Temp sensor is the only unit that transmits to the base station. It only reads the outside temperature, not the inside temperature and there is no possibility of adding on extra sensors. None of this is mentioned in the weather station's description.
This is very easy to set up and has beginner features that are great for kids or persons interested in this kind of thing. One thing that I found irritating was that the wind gauge was wired to the hygrometer. Also, the hygrometer CAN NOT get wet or it quits, and it can't be placed in a housing or it won't transmit so finding a place to install it is hard. Also, the rain gauge circuit board is not weatherized very well and quits in heavy rain. Mine had the anemometer cups break off when the wind got to 80 mph, and it is "so called" rated to 110.9. I won't ever know what the "gust" speed was!
