Used these to make "triple-layer brownies" (bottom layer Tollhouse cookie, middle layer Oreos, top layer brownies) and they came in very handy. The recipe called for me to make them from scratch but I knew Betty had this delicious brownie mix so I bought 2 and it saved me a lot of time and effort.
I don't understand the bad reviews. These taste the same way they always have in my opinion. These have been our favorite brownies for many years.
Amazing!!!
My family has loved these for years!!! The best flavor and chewy chocolate!
I've made these brownies twic and added pecans to them, and both times, they turned out really good. if you like them gooey, in which i do. Next time, i may try two eggs
I've been making the Supreme Original Brownies for 50 years and everyone loved them. Betty Crocker must have changed the ingredients because the new ones calling for 1/3 cup oil + 3 Tbsp water are not the same. Also the choc syrup pack is not Hersheys choc. I had some frozen brownies, from when you added 1/2 cup oil + 1/4 water and compared the 2 with friends and we all agreed the old brownies were much better. Hope Betty Crocker goes back to the "ORIGINAL" recipe or I'm going to have to try some other brands because these were very disappointing. Also the new ones are for an 11"x7" pan and not a 9"x13" pan.
Have made these brownies for years. Something has changed because they are now awful. Bought a second mix just to be sure I didn't get a bad box. It was awful too. My daughter made them also and hers were terrible too.
Do not buy! Betty Crocker is now crap. Used to be be good in the '80s and '90s. This "Supreme" was simply not supreme. It was nasty, nasty, nasty. Tasted like I was in a wood shop sawdust in the brownies. The sauce came out of special sauce packet like watery diarrhea. So gross. I prepared it exactly to the box directions but I also baked it 5 minutes less than the time on the box and it was baked fine - 5 minutes longer per the box timing would have made it hard as a brick. It went into the trash. Betty Crocker and Walmart - please enjoy my money for a bum product you are peddling.
These are not the same brownies I made in the past. The box weight has gone down, the amount of syrup isn't the same, just not a Betty Crocker product any longer. Guess I'll go back to baking homemade brownies because these are bad.
I've always been a big fan of Betty Crocker mixes, but after this, never again. I grabbed two boxes so that I could make some now, some in the future. The first box I used my typical box mix enhancers- extra egg, milk instead of water, butter instead of oil. It was super flat and had a strange texture, and was harder than I would have liked. I decided to make the second box because I wasn't happy with the first- this time I followed the box exactly, and it tasted like garbage and was hard as a rock and super dry. I ended up just making from scratch and threw out the two boxed brownies. I assume the recipe has changed because I've made this mix in the past with zero issues. I will no longer be buying Betty Crocker mixes.
