Clamp works perfectly for my deck. Extends out far enough so that there is no seed or bird poop on my deck. I may have to buy one as a gift for my sister! Great product!
I love that this hook has a very convenient clamp at the bottom that allows me to take it on and off as I need to without the need to drill anything and ruin my porch. In addition to it being good for a birdfeeder I think it's also great for hanging flower pots. It is definitely very versatile hook. It seems really strong and durable.
Great item, it's heavy, well made, feels quite sturdy once mounted to the deck. Mounting is quite easy with the turning knob, you are able to make it snug and secure without the use of a screwdriver or drill. It's a great addition to our deck with one thing I'd like to mention; the rail on my deck is made so that it is too narrow to mount this on the inside with the hook (and bird feeder) turned out toward the yard, as it stands now it mounts from the outer side of the rail so the feeder hangs over my deck and thus feeder mess fall to my deck. Noteworthy in case your rail was built like mine.
This sturdy clamp on deck hook is solid and feels well constructed. It is an ideal option to place on your deck. Attach your bird feeder or hummingbird feeder securely and enjoy the visitors while you relax in the comfort of your home all year long. The 13” inch hook is the perfect length for our viewing purposes. The hook clamps on securely without damaging the wood. I like that it has a durable, weather resistant finish especially being in the mid-Atlantic region with snow and ice. This will definitely last through many seasons.
I have apartment wrought iron railing on my balcony and this clamped on the narrow bars with no difficulty. Tightening was a little tricky because of rail spacing, but I was able to secure it nicely. The angle is far enough out to allow birds to fly or chimes to swing, but close enough to reach. Thickly coated to prevent rust, very well made., hence the higher price. I bought 2 to adorn either side of the balcony and create a nice She Shed space!
These hooks are perfect for winter feeding
Ive bought the smaller version of this one that was a screw in. This one has a pressure bolt and is bigger than the other ones ive had in the past. This thing is huge and very very solid! I would recommend this for bird feeders or even plants to hang on it. I have not used it yet but its solid and very nice!!!
I recently received the ‘More Birds 13 In Clamp-on Deck Hook for Bird Feeders, Hummingbird Feeders' for review purposes. This hook is heavy duty, black in color, and I have no question that it will last in the weather of the Ozarks. I chose this hook because it installs on the rail of the deck, but the alternate hook that installs directly to the home looked just as nice. We have been looking for another feeder option and this hook looks great visually. Unfortunately, because it is only 13”, the More Birds Clamp-on Deck Hook will not solve my squirrel problem. The hook will make it much easier for the squirrels to dine. I gave it 4 stars because it serves its purpose and is a wonderful product, but not quite the ideal hook for birds if you are in a tree covered area with animals that hunt for food.
I ordered two of these. One worked perfectly and the other was broken on the knob you tighten and the bolt was rusted. It looks like it had been previously returned. I need a couple more but am afraid to order them again. The one that did work was perfect for the space.
Not impressed! Please note: This hook is 30” long, not 13”! Also, the clamp will not secure to any deck railing less than 3/4” thick. My apartment balcony railing is only 1/4” thick (steel), so this won't work for me. I wish the clamp measurements/ deck support requirements were included in the description.
