Used it on some extremely dry and clay like TN soil. It took a few weeks to really begin getting thick and lush, but it did! I took plenty of care to water it and the effort was not wasted.
I bought this a month ago and it germinated in 5 days.
I overseeded my front yard 3 weeks ago with this grass seed and it looks absolutely amazing !!! 6 days after I seeded I had grass seed coming up , 2 weeks I was cutting my lawn at 3”, and then 3 weeks in see the pictures. Best lawn I've ever had . I've tried different grass seed over the years and never could get grass to grow to well in my front yard but this grass seed did amazing. I put this seed down in April in Kentucky
Our property is approximately 1/4 mile from the beach. Mostly Sandy soil and 3/4 of the lot is heavily wooded. We did not supplement the soil, only racked and germination has been fantastic! We’re very pleased so far! Waiting to see how the new grass holds up to summer heat and humidity.
Put down sun and shade mix 2 weeks ago Tilled soil put down Scott's lawn soil used Scott's spreader as directed raked seed into soil. Watered 2-3 times a day Now have about 65% new grass coverage with multiple tall weed seedlings in grass
Seeded bare ground due to house addition worked very well first year and covered quickly. But second year one or two of the grasses die off subsequently I have dry grass sprouts throughout. Will this be a constant problem.
I did everything I was supposed to do and I got nothing. I was doing 1000 sq ft. I used a rototiller, put down Scott's turf builder, mixed in garden soil, manure, over seeded it, raked the seed in, then put a small amount of top soil on top and watered it religiously. Three sometimes 4 times a day. Never over watered it. After 2 weeks, I had nothing but a small patch growing. Now I have to start all over again with a different seed. I watched a video where a guy tried three different seeds and it didn't come up for him either. What did come up for him was Pennington smart seed. I am going to try that.
I live in Florida and I bought this product a month ago, set my sprinklers to water twice a day but the seeds will not germinate. I dethatched, sacrificed, and raked everything up to ensure I have seed to soil and contact and fertilized with Scott's 3 in 1 but still nothing. Prior to this, I bought the thick r lawn for the front yard and it did not germinate either so I tried this for the back yard to see if it would be better but of course, it did not. I'm very disappointed with Scott's product this far.
I bought 2 bags for an area about 6x6. I easily covered the entire area with 1 bag. I grew almost no grass. I suspected maybe the weather, so i put the 2nd bag on. I watered plenty. The weather is in the 70's in Colorado . Still nothing! This product is crap i would bot purchase again !!
I purchased this product two months ago to fill in some bare areas. First I applied 15 bags of Scott's top soil raked it in and applied the Scott's grass seed. Watered it twice daily for three weeks and the grass was growing nicely. As time went by, the grass appears to be turning brown and dying. My existing grass looks fine.
