Great boots, great fit. I just wish they had care instructions in the box.
Great boot> had a good time hiking with my new boots.
These boots are a gift for a Peruvian friend who walks the Andes most days, rain or shine. I am sure he will love them!
Best hiking boot ever!! I have terrible pain in the ball of both of my feet every day. When I wear these boots, I have no pain!
I've tried a number of different boots over the years and always had fatigue and sore feet issues. I stand on concrete all day and do a lot of walking and climbing form my job. Wearing these boots is like walking on air. My feet are extremely happy!!
I had been looking for a mid-sized work boot that I could also use for hiking and came across the Strongbound Peak Mid Waterproff. All the reviews were great, and the price was reasonable, so I decided to give them a try. Best purchase I've made in a long time! They are true to size and comfortable right out of the box. Note: if you like to wear thick socks you would do well to order a half size larger than your normal size. These boots fit me perfectly with a light hiking sock. I put them on and wore them all day with not one wrong rub or pinch. The foot cradle is amazing, especially in the heel area as it keeps the boot from sliding around and causing blisters. These boots are exceptionally well made with quality materials and stitching. I will enjoy these boots for a long time. The ordering, tracking and delivery process was also a good experience.Tracking kept accurate details of the journey to my front door and they arrived 3 days early!!! Amazing experience.
Excellent support for all the walking through unkept fields and woods!
These rugged hiking boots met my expectations. I got them for the Spring and Fall hiking seasons in Maine and New Hampshire. I've put over 50 miles of rugged trails on them so far. They are holding up exceptionally well and I find them to be perfectly comfortable. I got them a half size larger than my actual size so that I could wear them with a thick hiking sock, since their primary use is during the cooler months. They have proven to be waterproof and kept my feet dry when walking through shallow streams and through swampy, wet areas. The traction is adequate, even on wet surfaces. Very grippy when having to scramble across rock ledges. On a less important note, but still somewhat important, I love the look of them and they are aging nicely.
The strongbound peak is a great design. Past Merrells I've owned (4 pairs) just weren't durable enough for the rugged terrain I enjoy — either the mid-sole collapsed or the out-sole separated from the upper. the strongbound peak has already outperformed every other Merrell I've owned. The challenge now is to take some weight out of the boot. At over 3lbs. many will find it too heavy in this day and age of lightweight gear.
Out of the box comfortable. Tongue is not fully bellowed, so the boot will easily flood and accumulate debris. This seems to be more common, maybe a cut corner for cost savings? The bellows on my old Merrell hiking boots is bellowed to the top of the boot. It's an important feature that should be brought back.
