Detailed product description

Sure, it’s great for Netflix, the big game and the real housewives of wherever. But the U7G is made for the gamers. It’s got our exclusive ULED technologies, 4K resolution, Quantum Dot Color, Dolby Vision HDR, Full Array Local Dimming zones and Android TV operating system. On top of all that, we added a 120Hz Native panel for smoother, more fluid motion and HDMI 2.1, Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode for gaming. The U7G also has up to 1,000 nits peak brightness, which makes HDR ‘pop’ and means the picture is lit no matter how bright the room. All this looks great on paper. Now think how much better it would look on this TV.

4K ULED™- Like 4K great, but better. The 55U7G has our exclusive ULED technologies. They boost color, contrast, brightness, motion... we could go on. It’s the TV your old TV wants to be. Quantum Dot Wide Color Gamut- Looks sick even if you suck. See over one billion shades. Quantum Dot produces purer, richer, more brilliant and accurate colors than a regular LED TV. We could get into how it works. But it’s a lot easier to say it makes every day look like the 4th of July. Ultra Motion and 120Hz Native refresh rate- Ultra Motion removes the digital ‘noise’ that can affect moving objects. Whether it’s a bird, a plane or the man of steel, everything you see is exceptionally clear. Blurred lines? Not on this TV, the 120Hz native refresh rate means smoother gaming with pictures that keep up with your play. Dolby Vision™ • Dolby Atmos®-Dolby Vision HDR picture and Dolby Atmos sound are cinema technology for your home. They provide amazing realism you can see and hear in every scene. IMAX Enhanced- IMAX Enhanced brings the cinema experience home. It combines digitally remastered 4K HDR content and DTS audio technologies with the best consumer products and streaming platforms. Built for people who want a more premier, at-home experience. Peak Brightness/Full Array Local Dimming Zones-Let’s start with the science. Screen brightness is measured in nits. One nit is the same brightness as one candle. So the higher the nit rating, the brighter the screen. The average TV is 250-350 nits. Anything over 500 nits is extremely good. This is up to 1,000 nits peak brightness across 72 local dimming zones. You get the picture. A picture that’s brighter and perfectly lit in any light condition. Game Mode Pro- All the most advanced gaming tech, all in this TV. HDMI 2.1 inputs recognize gaming sequences to automatically adjust settings for smooth, uninterrupted play. The automatic low-latency mode (ALLM), variable refresh rate (VRR) and Free Sync minimize input lag, screen jitter, and frame tearing. So your gaming Quantum Dot Wide Color Gamut looks sick even if you suck. Hands Free Voice Control-Put down the remote. Change the channel, find the latest movie, stream your favorite video and more with your voice. The quicker, easier way to find whatever you want to watch. Voice Remote- The backlit voice control makes controlling your TV easier. Open apps, turn the volume up or down, search for your favorite shows. And if the actual remote goes missing, use the buttons on the TV to activate ‘Find My Remote’. Five bucks says it’s down the back of the couch. Google Assistant- The Google Assistant is built into Android TV. Tell it to turn on the lights, change the thermostat, add stuff to your grocery list, or just play that video of your friend falling over for the millionth time. And with universal search, you can even get recommendations with Android TV.

High End TV at a Budget Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I started looking for a new TV for our bedroom I noticed Hisense seemed to have the best combination of ratings, features, and pricing out of all the brands I looked at. We just upgraded our living room TV from an offbrand company and we've had several issues with it, so I was a little hesistant to try this brand. I'm glad I did though since this TV is AWESOME! A TV with all the features it has would be priced much higher had I decided on a well known brand. First of all the TV looks great in person the bezels barely noticeable and it has a highend fit and finish. The TV we had before this had local dimming and after having that it's really tough to go back to a TV that doesn't have really deep blacks. No complaints in that department, where the screen is supposed to be black it basically looks like the screen is off. Picture is very sharp and the screen is among the brightest I've ever seen. Colors are vibrant and I haven't noticed any dead/unusual areas on the screen. I'm really glad this has Android TV as I have all Google products, I have read comments of this operating system being slow or laggy on other TVs, but I have not found any issue with that on this one. The TV boots almost instantly and menus operate smoothly. Before I bought it, I thought the google assistant could only be used through the remote, but it turns out it has a microphone right in the TV. This seems to work well and you can control many of the functions of the TV or other google home devices with your voice. In my opinion the sound is a little better than most TVs, but I prefer still using a soundbar. The remote is a little bulkier than most newer TVs, but I don't mind it as the other TV we have the remote is almost too limited for my taste. This controls everything on the TV without having to go through multiple steps like others. Overall, I'm very happy that I gave Hisense a shot on this one. This TV is high quality and feature packed, I'd definitely buy another Hisense TV when I have another to replace.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hisense - 55" Class U7G Series Quantum ULED 4K UHD Smart Android TV’s beautiful 4K picture, impressive motion smoothing, and abundant smart home compatibility makes it competitive with other TVs within the price range. Hisense - 55" Class U7G quantum is equipped with Hisense’s new quantum dot technology, supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and HDR10, and has built-in voice controls. The big highlight is the Hisense 55” U7G’s impressive color accuracy. Hisense uses the quantum dot to boost the color spectrum. Using this TV to play call of duty showed a very good with picture quality with contrast and excellent uniformity. The U7G does achieve impressively deep blacks thanks to a full array local dimming system. Hisense - 55" Class U7G has integrated a more universal smart TV interface in Google's Android TV platform, which avails the user countless TV apps available on the Google store. Android TV also brings full support for Google Assistant, allowing you to simply ask your television for information which is then read back to you and displayed on-screen. Hisense - 55" Class U7G audio speakers can achieve a decent level of volume without any distortion and audio comes through quite clearly. The 55” U7G has 4 HDMI ports. 2 are HDMI 2.1 ports (1 of them is eARC) and 2 are standard HDMI 2.0 ports. The Hisense - 55" Class U7G is ideal for gamers that have a next-gen console or beastly gaming PC thanks to support for 4K/120fps gameplay via HDMI 2.1. Overall, I will recommend this TV for anyone that what some quality within a lower price range. I received this product for a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My honest opinion for this tv is that its a great buy for the price. The picture for me is the the most important thing and it looks amazing and specially on games on which its designed for. Unlike other brands this tv's audio is awsome you can definitely hear all around the house what i'm playing that's how powerfull the speakers are. The tv is also very light to hang and mount on wall if desired, it's also designed not too bulky and that's always a plus. I would definitely recommend Hisense to others.

This tv blew my mind, I usually buy LG tvs because of quality and wanted a new tv specifically for gaming with freesync to use with my gaming pc. I wasn't about almost double what this costed for a name brand tv with the same features or less than this one. I love it, its so responsive, the picture quality is great, freesync and 120hz really make a difference when coming from 60hz. Would totally recommend this tv, I am probably going to end up returning this one and buying a bigger size since I know it'll be worth it for the price

Amazing Product needs some tweaking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this product overall for the price a 4K Quantum dot tv, there is not another TV in this price point for this visual quality. I did initially struggle with the audio quality changing the values in settings to support wall mount, as well as tweaking the equalizer helped as well. After tuning the audio quality we have been very happy with the TV. The Android TV software and framework is quick and very efficient. I loved moving from an older Samsung to this because loading streaming platforms often took a while, where was here it was almost instant. The Television going to screen saver after 5 minutes of being paused was awesome. I did have to learn that the screen saver did not mean that the streaming program underneath it was stopped, so pressing play allowed for a quick return to the show or movie I was watching. If there was any negative to discuss it would be the remote control, a nice high quality TV like this should have a remote the reflects the price / performance range being targeted. I love the Bluetooth, as well as the remote buttons for direct launching specific apps. We have had a hard time with Bluetooth being as easy to initially use but got it figured out. Using the remote on the phone is awesome as well. The remote while functional does feel low quality, some additional robustness and an optional programmable button for a specific app would be amazing as well.

This is a good TV, but "game" mode is borked

Reviewed in the USA on 2021-07-12T17:00:00

If you are not going to game on it, this is a pretty good TV. It crushes blacks a little and there's some stuttering on panning shots, but image quality is otherwise excellent. Now, if you want to use the "game" mode, prepare for a disappointment. Not only does it change the color settings in a way that makes it hard to match your normal preferences, it introduces a ton of ghosting and other overdrive artifacts. Enabling VRR seem to only make it worse. Oh, and local dimming gets disabled in "game" mode too. This TV seriously need a patch / firmware update. Maybe it'll be truly great for gaming after that, but in it's current state it falls short.

Bright but ultimately disappointing
(2)
Reviewed in the USA on 2022-02-14T16:00:00

This TV can deliver some stunning images with its high peak brightness but I am ultimately disappointed with it for a few different reasons. 1 Motion Interpolation - This TV is very distracting to watch movies on. With 24p content I get weird motion interpolation artifacts randomly. This is beyond the normal judder/ soap opera effect issues that plague almost every lcd to some effect. Basically characters and/or objects will have a weird stutter for approximately 1-3 seconds. Over the course of a 2 hour movie, this will happen at least a half dozen times. I haven't really noticed the same thing happening when watching satellite tv or playing video games or a least its a lot less noticeable. Sound - I have this TV hooked up to an AV receiver (Anthem MRX310), via toslink and ARC(for testing purposes). In the digital output menu (see pic), using auto or passthrough will always default to 2 channel pcm when streaming with the onboard apps or even an external roku box. I have to select dolby digital or digital+ in the menu to get surround sound working while streaming movies. When I stream music (2channel pcm), I have to change the settings back to passthrough or pcm to get the correct volume levels. This is hugely inconvenient as these settings are 4 menus deep. Control 4 - I was excited to see there was a Control 4 network driver for this TV but after testing it my excitement quickly waned and I had to resort to IR control. Most of the network controls work (vol+, vol-, menu, up, down, power off, etc.), but power on did not work. I cannot recommend this TV currently but will gladly change this review if a firmware update fixes/ improves these problems. Also, notice the spelling error in the audio output settings?
