[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never owned a dethatcher. I did quite a bit of research and watched multiple You tube videos and decided on this greenworks dethatcher. It exceeded my expectations. It was super easy to assemble, to use and to clean and store. It did a great job thatching my yard and all my neighbors commented on all the piles of dead product I was able to collect afterwards.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First mossed out . Detached the lawn . Aeration . Lawn soil . Overseeing .watered .My new law in four weeks.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thatcher is amazing, removed all the moss and thatch from my entire yard (.25 acres) and the moss was thick this year.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my house 3 years ago and the lawn wasn't well maintained. I used to manually thatch my previous lawn so I thought this would help. I thought I'd have more thatch but it cleaned up my lawn a bit so I could fertilize. I did it in the spring after two mows so the lawn could soak up the rains in Illinois. So far so good.
Great little machine. I was skeptical but anything is better than thatch raking by hand and I found it on sale at walmart.com. I have a reasonable size yard and was able thatch in about 20 minutes.
I wanted to dethatch our lawn and called a local business who quoted me a cost of $500. I figured I could do it on my own, but needed a machine to do it. I purchased this one because of it's cost and positive reviews. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. It effortlessly pulled up a lot of dead grass on the first pass. I thought that the extension cord would be a bigger issue than it was. I had to move the cord occasionally out of the way. This added an extra 5 minutes total. The whole job for a 1/2 acre plot took a little under 1 hour with another hour added on to collect the dead grass. For something that I'll only be doing once a year, this machine offers great value.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent light duty dethatcher. Took me a minute to get used to the cord but overall it worked great. Helped pull out old grass and green up the yard. Easy to maneuver once you get the hang of it. Would recommend.
If you're tired of raking dead grass, I strongly recommend this dethatcher. After making 4-5 passes on a particularly dead portion of my lawn, I collected 10, 30 gallon, yard waste bags full of glass. The dethatcher moves along the lawn with relative ease. The height adjustments are intuitive. Comes with replacement tines. Overall works very well and it's a nice piece of equipment with a reasonable price point. Cons: you need a lengthy extension cord that you will be working around during your job. Minor inconvenience..
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is perfect for removing the dead grass from your lawn without severe damage to the live grass. I made two passes in a cross pattern and pulled 2 large trash cans of dead grass from approximately 6k square feet of lawn. Using 100ft of 12 gauge extension cord this machine tackled the job with no problem. Dealing with cord management is a bit of a pain but manageable. It's well built and for the cost it's well worth it. Using a thatch rake would do more damage to the lawn and take a ridiculous amount of time so I can easily recommend this tool. It's also lightweight and easy to maneuver which I appreciate.
Good dethatcher, did my whole yard amd it worked good. But after about 2 hrs of use the rubber flao that is held on butterfly style 5 bolts all fell out and are lost in the grass. The rubber flap metal bracket is also loose.
