I bought this when my old fridge died. I love the size and the side by side doors. The different ice options are a nice feature. I didn't think that we would use it but we do. The bigger ice keeps water bottles cold for longer. I am glad we bought this model.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At 62 years old, I've owned various fridges over the years, mainly from 2 well known manufacturers. This is my first LG fridge, and I must say that I am impressed. I've had comments on how nice it looks, as well as it's features. I haven't had a Side-By-Side in 10 years, having been swayed into trying a French Door model previously; but I immediately remembered how much I liked the Side-By-Side, and LG made an effort to improve on that style experience. In the freezer, there are two ice makers, the traditional ice in the door, with a removable bin and both whole and crushed ice options, and the popular craft ice maker inside, which makes balls of ice. My daughters think that's SO neat. There's PLENTY of storage space, as well as 2 roomy drawers at the bottom. The refrigerator side has even more space, including the 2 drawers at the bottom. The water filter cartridge is easily accessible at the top right of the refrigerator, as opposed to other manufacturers having them inconveniently located at the very bottom outside of the fridge. It also has a chime that sounds if you keep the door open for too long - Or if the door does not get shut all of the way. One of my absolute favorite features of this model is the ingenious Door-In-Door on the refrigerator side. You have the option of opening the full length door, or the top half has a smaller Door-In-Door feature that lets you access frequently used items that you keep stored on the inside door bins. This saves on costs by keeping the fridge as cool as possible when grabbing items. As a side note, depending on what you put there, you can also reach in further and grab items that are on the top shelves. This model also connects to Wi-Fi, which makes it a Smart Fridge, with features and settings, as well as notifications, configurable through an app on your phone or tablet. It also learns your routines, and will adjust itself accordingly for optimal operation. Like I said at the start, I'm both impressed and very happy with this LG fridge, and I hope to get many years of use from it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful fridge. The drawers have a lot of room and this has made finding and locating items in the freezer much easier. The UV on the water dispenser is also great. The look fits our kitchen perfect with all our other LG appliances. Craft ice is amazing, a serious conversation peice when having guests over.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced an older refrigerator and very happy with this purchase. It is spacious, quiet, and has an upper door to quickly access milk, sodas, etc. without having to open the entire door. I like the seamless design: the lack of handles takes a bit of getting used to but now really love it.
The good, love the outer fridge door for easy access to frequently use items, the craft ice maker and how well the front cleans up. I also appreciate LG's quick response when one of the freezer shelves broke. A few design problems. The water dispenses one cool glass of water and then tap temperature, doors slam shut unless opened all of the way, drawer handles are below the drawers requiring bending over too far, drawers will only open when the door is all the way open past 90 degrees (photo), craft ice maker drawer does not have a stop so it can fall out if you aren't careful and the door fronts are not flat (photo). I also haven't been able to use the Thin Q features because he fridge can't seem to stay connected to WiFi but I don't really care about that.
Discovered there is known anomaly with water filter housing. If you don't remove the old filter perfectly it causes an inner plastic alignment tab that gets misaligned to accept replacement filter to fully lock in correctly. When I say known it is not mentioned in the owner's manual but known internet wide. And LG does not make an alignment tool to realign the inner tab back to correct position. There some made by 3rd party filter manufacturers. I discovered best way without buying a tool is to file down tabs on a filter and insert modified filter on to turn inner tab to correct position.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The silver frame around ice dispenser cracks and breaks easily. I have replaced this part several times and sure enough it is cracked again.
Poor Door design using plastic clip to latch door that is used multiple times per day. When clip breaks whole door needs to be replaced. LG could've put a metal clip instead of cheap breakable plastic. Or make replacement part instead of replacing whole door. Way to go LG
This refrigerator is very very disappointing and extremely frustrating. The Craft Ice Maker is nice, WHEN it works... The craft ice maker constantly freezes up and dies, every 2-3 weeks requiring a hair dryer and thaw time if you want to use it. The fridge itself doesn't keep the temps in the freezer or fridge as requested as the LG green app settings, will force themselves back on and make the whole freezer and fridge get just warm enough to gloss everything over and freeze your ice makers up solid again and again. The compressor died in 10 months on mine and still could not get it repaired or replaced. I really can only say that you should seriously consider an alternative to this one...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No, I am not happy with it. I am a soda drinker or a pop drinker inside the refrigerator. The shelf is not big enough to hold soda bottle 2 L you can't put 2 L on the door because they get flat vegetable, but I do buy a lot of pop and I did not think about that. None of my pop can fit in the middle of the refrigerator and I do not put on the doors.
