[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed another satellite to fill a dead spot in my coverage. The satellite was here in 2 days. Great service!
I have 5 satellites on my system and all are connected they spec it at 3 .. but I've been in networks for 4.5 decades plus ..
You already pay upwards of 200 for the mesh wifi6 system. Then another 130 for a single satellite. It better be worth the price at the end of the day and on top of all of this, pay extra for extending armor past the trial period and if you want extra warranty/ phone support. Will further update later on.
Super easy to install and/or expand. Both mobile app and web site are easy to use. Some equipment will not work with a mesh network; however, so keep that in mind if you decide to upgrade.
The nighthawk ME60 router with armor works extremely well. I use it for streaming as we do not have canle tv. Why only three stars. Because you cannot get armor for the router without bit defender. I do not need bit defender I have always and always will use norton. For these reason my next router up grade will not be netgear as i feel I am paying for a service I do not need.
Distance between satilites is not as great as it should be. Satilites only have 1 RJ45 port and they should have at least 4.
System constantly drops, speeds lowered to <20% of my plan speed. Can't set mesh connections manually so instead of linking to the modem they daisy chain off each other which also lowers speed.
Keeps dropping out very disappointed. Bought another extension hub. Still sucked.
The satellite was almost impossible to sync. The tech support kept trying the same thing…….unplug it count to 10 and plug it in again. The fact it did finally sync was totally random. The app does not allow the satellites to be renamed and the guest Wi-Fi channel can't be amended. This product should have been perfected before being brought to market.
Integration of this satellite to an existing Netgear Nighthawk mesh network (MR60 + MS60) was extraordinarily difficult - even after hours on the phone with Netgear support, we were unsuccessful in integrating the satellite with the network, hence it was returned.
