After shopping the stores to find a bike that properly fit my tall 8 year old, I found that most 24" bikes were mountain bikes and were geared for older kids and had more complicated features (18+ speed adjustments, etc.). I saw this 24" cruiser on the website and ordered it hoping it would be a good fit. We couldn't be happier. Hubby said it went together easily. The 8 year old loves it and so do I. With the seat adjusted higher, even I can ride it comfortably. I will likely order another one for me so we can ride together!
At a full 5', I'm too tall for a 20" kid's bike but the 26" I had before kept bucking me off! At least 3 times! Not good for a 65-year-old lady. This one is juuuust right. I hop on and fly. When I stop, always on purpose now, both my feet touch down where they belong, not waving in air like some overturned whale. It seems to be a good bike so far, and the low instep is ideal for the height-challenged. I wish it came in blue instead of cranberry, but that's a minor quibble. The seat's very comfortable, too. And at least I know those wonderful coaster brakes won't fail me like the cable brakes did on my other ride. Another thing - the handle grips are nice and smooth, not knobby torture devices like the last one.
I love this bike. It fits my 5'0 frame perfectly and was easy to put together and adjust for me! It even easily pulls our toddler's trek cart behind. If you are a smaller woman I would definitely recommend this bike!
I purchased this bike online, for myself, as a way to get fresh air and much-needed exercise. I used site-to-store and had the store put it together. Yo get it home, I had to remove the bike seat so it would fit in the trunk of my car with the trunk lid slightly ajar and tied-down.The bike is lightweight, but sturdy, and easy to manage. After adjusting the handle-bar and seat, I have been able to enjoy quite a few long rides in comfort. For the price, this bike definitely exceeds my expectations. The color is my favorite, the whitewall tires enhance the overall look, and I would recommend this bike to anyone, young or old (I'll be 65), who is 5'4" and under. It's been over 40 years since I've been on a bike, but this bike is so comfortable and easy to ride that it seems like I never stopped. I love my Purple Cruiser........ can you tell?
I have a mountain bike that I never ride, since it's uncomfortable. I really wanted a simple cruiser that rode like the banana seat bike that I had when I was a kid. I came across this one online, and since I'm 5'3", I thought the size might work perfectly. Plus, my favorite color is purple ;) I ordered it on Thursday afternoon, and received it with free shipping to my home on Saturday!!! That is the first thing that impressed me. It arrived while I was gone for the day, and my wonderful husband had it all put together when I got home. It's GORGEOUS in person! The picture does NOT do it justice! My husband commented that he was shocked at the fantastic quality and couldn't understand how it was so reasonably priced! He has a higher end bike that was around $1000, so he knows what he's talking about. He was impressed with the fact that the aluminum frame is iodized and not painted. He said that it will hold up great and not get chipped like paint would. It's very lightweight as well, which is shocking for such an inexpensive bike. He was also impressed with the tires, and said they were high quality, and recognized the brand. I was only able to take it for a short ride, due to the weather, but it was incredible! I came home beaming and felt like I was 11 years old again! Nothing beats that feeling! I highly recommend this bike, and I'm very picky. I also never write reviews, but I just had to write a review this time. I love the look, and the fenders are such a great touch. As a side note, the fenders are also purple, which was hard to tell in the picture. The frame is incredibly easy to get on and off of. Love the old school brakes. I haven't ridden a bike in probably 9 years, and it's true, you really don't forget ;) I cannot wait to take it out again tomorrow, and hopefully everyday after that!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!
I purchased 3 of these girl's bicycles from online and another one a man's in the store. All the same brand and kind. These bicycles are well worth the money. We love the bicycles, they exceed our expectations. Very easy to peddle and love the foot brake. Everything about them is very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone. The girl's bicycle's that I purchased are rode by all adult women so don't be fooled by "girl's bicycle". Hope this review helps.
Let me start off by saying that I have not been on a bike in 50 years, that's right 50. I will admit I was a little afraid to get on for fear I would be on the ground immediately. When I picked the bike up at Walmart, I took it outside to try it out in the parking lot. I thought if I can't do this then why bother. Well much to my surprise I got on, balanced it and rode all over the lot. I was thrilled. When I went on my first bike ride, guess what? I rode 10 miles round trip, now how's that for someone who hasn't been on a bike in 50 years. This bike is awesome, it's comfortable, beautiful, and so easy to ride. Received many comments from people on my ride which made it all the more wonderful. Thank you for a great bike and I am so happy I found this and thank you to your guy who put it together for me. Had to wait a little longer than I wanted, but it was worth it in the long run. I now ride every day for at least 30 minutes and getting the sunshine and exercise I need. Couldn't be happier.
My sister and I purchased it for my mom for her birthday. My mom is about 5ft tall and this bike fits her well. She could not ride a 26" bike. I assembled the bike myself. It was really easy to assemble. It came with a few scratches and blemishes in the paint but overall it was fine for what we paid for it. The tires are nice and wide and the seat is pretty comfortable.
I like this bike, it is just what I was looking for. Some of the parts (like the fenders) are a little flimsy. But the price was right, and that accounts for the material. I was informed by e-mail as to the shipping information and picking it up at the store was easy.
I'am the bike assembler at our store,so i know all of the bikes inside out . the la jolla bikes are very good quality for the money .I,am a certified motor cycle, power equippment ,auto and bike tech,I know good quality from bad.I also know that the cheaper bikes have to have extra time spent on them as far as adjustments to the brakes ,gears ,true the wheels, chain slack, ect. But the only thing i see that is on the cheap side would be the fenders, but that's not bad.Over all it's one of our best bikes on the rack, hope we keep them for sale for a long time.
