Moved in to a house with a nice Gen 1 system - 5 Connect amps hardwired to passive speakers in almost every room of the house. Loved that system, but it was pretty limited by contemporary standards. Biggest thing was no AirPlay with Gen 1. Recently took advantage of the Sonos upgrade deal for a very nifty discount on 5 Amps, 1 Port, and a Roam 2. The sound quality of the new Amps is noticeably superior to the Connects. AirPlay is essential. I also love the mono setting for one of our rooms where stereo just never sounded right. Great upgrade, worth every penny.
I have built in speakers in my home. I wasn't using them as it was a pain to access usability with the old amp which was downstairs. I've always wanted and hoped this would be the answer to my problem. I have a 4 speaker Quest QLS 4.1. I simply connected the speakers wires from the Quest to the Sonos Amp and bingo it works perfectly. I now have my Sonos speakers and my "built ins" streaming together. Awesome!!!
Never saw an amp with no knobs. Guess I'm old school. All I can say is that Sonos makes quality audio equipment. Period.
Sonos is very easy to use with the app. Our installer did a great job and we also love that you see nothing as the amp fits perfectly behind the TV. Great sound and we will be expanding it to our other TV's!
Easy setup and use. I like how versatile the configuration is. I have five zones and an amp for each.
We use it for music on the boat dock. Fantastic, when it works.
I purchased 9 connect amps due to the simplicity and known performance. I'm very disappointed to learn that I will no longer be able to use my iTunes and phone to play across my house. This was the main reason I purchased this system. I'm hoping I will be able to adapt to the changes? I also find the loss of signal and playback to be a issue.
The app and lack of functionality on the app is just disappointing. Sonos, why do you NOT listen to your customer base? As an early adopter (2005? or so), I have seen all the iterations. I continue to use the hardware because I like the hardware, but the software is BAD. Alarms? Barely work. Groups and group listening, very buggy. Actual simple hardware remote controls? Non existent. Thank you Lutron for at least trying to provide something. Sonos has tried to make things too cool and too tech and they have forgotten a lot of the basics. This could hands down be the best system out there, but they continue to fail to listen to what the users ACTUALLY want and more importantly what users NEED
Really annoyed that SONOS SUBS will NOT connect to Move2s. I had to buy a SONOS AMP and connect to an analog SUB so my Move2 speakers could have a sub around my pool deck. SONOS needs to cut the crap with these restrictions. THEY DO NOT HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS ABOUT HOW USERS USE THEIR PRODUCTS.
It was tolerable until they changed the app. It is now unusable. Wait 1-2 hours on hold just to have them say they want to call back but never do. Horrible tech department, they don't save the calls. I have called 3 times in a 10 day period and each time I have to start from scratch. If they do not change this app I would stay away, unless you like wasting 6k just to be frustrated every day.
