I was a previous Pixel 1,2,3 user who had decided to give a nice Samsung a try after being offered a good deal from my phone service. Even though I did like the Samsung I have to say that coming back to Pixel was there right choice. I am enjoying the quickness, the reliability and the overall way that the pixel is more part of me and my work/life instead of an outside tool. Love it 100%
I got the phone about a month ago, so far love it. Of course some things are different and still trying to figure out. I've had a pixel 2 xl that's why I got the 6 hope this one will not give me any trouble, and I can great service from it like the 2xl keep up the good work google thanks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my Pixel 6 for two weeks now and I'm blown away by its performance, especially the night mode for taking photos. The software side of things is a killer feature among Google Android phones, especially considering the affordable price. A couple of other highlights for me have been the integration of Google Assistant, which can not only control all of your connected devices, but can also do things like serve as an interpreter with the live translate mode, which is amazing. While we are on the subject of live translation, you can also use Google Lens to translate text in photos, as well as messages and media you receive. It is really effective and really cool to have this much translation power in your pocket. The voice-to-text of the phone is nearly flawless and you barely need to slow down when speaking. One area that has been a bit of a struggle is the fingerprint reader under. Honestly, it operates at the level that my former Galaxy Note 21 operated, especially if I had lotion on my hands or was sweating but it's definitely not a dealbreaker. It works most of the time, but when compared directly with my previous Pixel phone, it feels like a step back but hopefully the bugs will get worked out. The back of the phone is made of Gorilla Glass which is a nice feature, especially considering I'm not a huge phone case fan. I have dropped the phone once so far on my hardwood floors and it held up nicely. One of my favorite features is the Magic Eraser which allows you to erase a person or object from a photo. Overall, I am happy with my new phone.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This phone is outstanding and close to perfect. It's so fun to use! The battery life has been great. The camera does offer some very nice 4k shots and does allow for a lot of customization. There is a cinema mode that allows for smoother, slow motion effects to give you more dramatic effects in your film. The Google Design Team has placed a good amount of thought into how the phone operates and reacts to touch. The OS is very user friendly and responds to everything with no lag or stutter. Overall, the phone is amazing and really enjoy using it. I couldn't recommend it more highly and at the price, it is the phone to beat.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was super easy to get started. Just took it out of the box and insert my sim card and started the set up process. It was pretty quick and painless. I love the design of the phone and how the cameras are set up. The only trouble, I ran into, is that, it doesn't have the 3 tabs (like the home screen tab, apps tab, back tab), on the bottom of the screen like my older phone. So, it's something I'm still getting used to. Other than that it's pretty easy to use and get the hang of. Both the selfie camera and the camera on the back take really good crisp pictures. I love the editing features to edit the photos. One of the cool ones I'm using a lot is the magic eraser. You can erase background people in your photos! It's super cool to use. As for the phone and apps, it's very responsive, there's no lags. Even when playing my games, it's smooth sailing. As for the battery, the phone seems to last a full day without needing to recharge. Now the battery doesn't offer fast charging, but as long as the phone last all day and some, that's all that matters to me. Overall, this phone is a great phone with lots of great specs. I definitely recommend it.
I love this phone with one exception. Firstly the navigation is the best I feel. Also no bloatware. Wish I could keep it. The exception is as after 10 minutes of use it is early too hot to hold. :(Hopefully they address the battery issue. I was checking out solutions for the hot phone and one solution is to use your phone less. Lol.
I have no idea why Google seems to be chasing the iPhone down poor decision and design patterns but there it is....This phone delivers exactly what I expected regarding technology (there really isn't a lot of "New" in the phone world this time around) - great sound, graphics, and the well done Android/Pixel interfaces.Where it falls short... Please can we stop with the overly slippery 'glass' cases?!? And why did we go back to making the phone bigger? I have big hands and I still have to use both hands to manage this phone (size slippery=drops!!)Ahh well, it's better than the 4a with a bled out LCD panel ;) (my fault, but $$ to replace vs upgrade was a wash for me)
I am still learning to navigate my new phone. I love the camera on this phone; it takes great photos! I also love the larger size for my older eyes. I wish I had had more direct information about how to download apps like facebook, etc. because I made a few tough errors when trying to first use it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a full featured smartphone made specifically for the newest version of the Android operating system. It is fast and responsive. The display is bright with excellent clarity. The face of this smartphone is nothing but screen. No buttons. The cameras are high definition and take outstanding photos and videos. The phone itself feels good in the hand. It is smooth with rounded corners and has a thoughtfully designed camera placement. The rear camera spans across the top width of the phone. In a way that allows the unit to sit at a slight incline when placed down on a tabletop. This also prevents it from wobbling when using it on a flat surface. Wireless, wi-fi, and Bluetooth connectivity is strong, fast, and consistent. NFC also works well. The battery life is very good for a smartphone of this caliber. A feature that I like is the fingerprint security. Place one of your fingers or thumbs directly on the screen to unlock the phone. I do have one complaint. The power button and volume controls are on the same side of the phone. I'll get used to it. Overall, I am pleased with this smartphone and would have no problem recommending it to family and friends.
Camera and battery life has been great so far but the user experience has been frustrating. I have been playing the with gestures to switch apps and fat finger frequently. I had a pixel 4 before and miss the prevous experience. Also some of the recent changes on making it harder to do things like restart - now requires 2 button presses instead of one before feels like the wrong direction - complicating experiences instead of simplifying. Very likely will be switching to iphone with my next buy.
