Love it very much ....there is a light smell but nothing like was described in previous reviews. If you are getting this for your back my one recommendation to you is ....don't waste all of your breath try filling half way and then sit on it. Too full is not as comfortable. Great product and very strong and sturdy.
I was very happy to have found something I had been looking for. I had purchased 2 plastic ones and was very unsatisfied. I bought those at a local pharmacy. Of course after blowing them up about 3 X, the seams opened up and air was lost. I had checked several pharmacies in the area and none of them had the rubber ones. If you are in a chair or bed most of the time this is what you need.
For those who benefit from sitting on a donut cushion, I recommend spending the extra money to buy this cushion. It is easily inflated with a brass fitting and is pretty durable. We have purchased two of the vinyl donuts (available at local Walmarts) only to have the seams fail after being used for only a few months. Unfortunately, this particular cushion was only available using the "Ship-to-Store" option (to avoid paying for shipping) and not carried in local Walmarts.
I could review this purchase in 2 words....."Happy Butt"; however I feel it important to mention the strong smell of new rubber product that is very prevalent. It rubs off on your hands it is so strong, so I found the perfect round pillow made with a thick fabric, removed the stuffing and replaced it with the rubber cushion (sewing in all but the stem). The level of cushion is adjustable using the heavy duty brass valve (even while I'm sitting on it). 2 thumbs up
Circulation is better, ankles don't swell, thanks to this comfy little "mini inner-tube." The bright red color is a mood pick-me-up, as well. I would recommend that it would be worth a try to people who are uncomfortable sitting.
Excellent quality, extremely heavy duty, brass valve. Works flawlessly. I would like to see it come in a couple of colors, perhaps a dark brown or black. The only complaint I have, it has a very strong rubber odor that is still very obvious after a couple of washings and soakings.
This is any cheap thin rubber or that thin plastic its made out of commercial grade rubber in my opinion, my father is a big guy and he uses it everyday and it hasn't popped yet LOL hope some of this was helpful
I've had it now for about a week. it takes the pressure off my butt. That's exactly what I was looking for. It is heavy duty construction. The only negative thing I can say is that it has a strong rubber odor which has dissipated some . Hopefully it will go away completely..Otherwise I would give 5 stars..
There are probably exceptionally more comfortable foam cushions on the market but with a much higher price tag, but this one has it's charms. If you let the air out a little, it's softer. I am a young, robust twenty-eight-year-old saddled with a desk job. Sitting for so long makes my butt fall asleep, and the doughnut design really helps promote blood flow to my lower extremity, which is the primary objective for my purchase. It’s awkward at first, but once you get past the strange looks coworkers give you and find the good positions, the rubber inflatable doughnut pillow works wonders for your coccyx.
I bought this because I thought it would help with my tailbone. I am almost 5 months pregnant and my tailbone is very sensitive. The reviews stating not to blow it all the way are very helpful. With that said it doesn't relieve it still does not relieve pressure off my tail bone because you have to try to sit on it just right. I can't seem to find that spot. If you try and put this in a vehicle you would be sitting on the rubber and not in the hole. I believe had it been designed to be open in the back it would make a world of difference.
