I've tried a few different hydroponic models and AeroGarden is the best, by far. For starters, it is the best grow light out there. The plant food is really well formulated and ALL my plants dig it. The seed pods are larger (taller) than other brands, which seem to better support the plant. I do use other brand pods but honestly, AeroGarden's are competitively priced so not worth the switch. Also, the pre-seeded pods are fantastic, too. Especially the lettuce pods which put out some wonderful crops. CON: My only complaint is that the grow light isn't height adjustable on this model. The taller plants need to be harvested earlier than they should. I just moved the herbs to dirt pots and submerged them in plastic food storage bowls with water at the bottom (like an earth-tainer). As for the lettuce, I moved them to a diy hydroponic set up (food-grade totes, a submersible water pump and a grow light) - and voila! lettuce keeps growing.
This has been a great product for us. I bought it because it was difficult to grow anything inside the house. We use the herbs daily. The notifications for water and fertilizer are amazing.
We absolutely love our new AeroGarden Harvest Elite Slim in Stainless!!! The design is beautiful and fits right in with our modern décor. The set up was so easy and straight forward to program. Be very careful when adding water as needed because you do not want to get water in the circuit board. I found a cup with a longer spout to ensure this does not happen. The grow light is very bright, so we have chosen for it to come on at midnight. Although we are only 14 days in, we are amazed. We look forward to seeing the progress each day. We have started with a variety of lettuce and the smell of freshness is awesome. I'm sure we will have enough to supply our neighbours; therefore, we will have to plan out future growing. We love our AeroGarden Harvest Elite Slim so much, we ordered another :) Thank you for the quick delivery, customer service and wonderful online resources to help make the gardening a success.
I love this garden. It is slimmer than the first I purchased and fits perfectly where I wanted it. This one grows my lavender and so far it is absolutely perfect. I know I'll be purchasing more for my Christmas gifts (for two) this year. Such a great concept. I highly recommend! Thanks AeroGarden
I am so loving the Elite Slim. I cannot believe how fast the heirloom salad pods are growing. Every day, they look so different. I discovered the grow light casts about a foot beyond the Aerogarden and placed seed starters in front. My alstroemeria seeds have germinated way faster than all the sites say say. My wife was lukewarm on the Aerogarden but with the salad greens ready for our first harvest, her excitement has almost reached my level.
I bought this for myself for Christmas and Absolutely Love it!!! In just 2 weeks I already have herbs growing and can't wait to see the daily progression.
My husband loves to cook and has been interested in growing his own herbs for a while, but we are not plant people and an outdoor garden just didn't seem possible. This has been amazing and our herbs grew FAST! One of the 6 seed pods that came with ours never sprouted, so that was kind of a bummer. We need to buy a replacement for it. But overall, we love it and would absolutely recommend.
Slim line garden with a small footprint that permits growth of six pods simultaneously, as long as they aren't tall plants. Great for herbs and lettuces. Good for starting up to three larger plants such as tomatoes, eggplants, or peppers- but once established, plant on moving those plants to Kratky or dirt,
Bought this as a gift for my son. He loved it when he opened it. “This is awesome!” were his words. He and his girlfriend tried to grow herbs in their apt in their own but wasn't too successful. This makes it easy for them to grow fresh herbs. However, I just asked him how his plants were doing and he said they were doing good except for a few that haven't even sprouted.
I had previously had an AeroGarden for five plus years and enjoyed growing my own herbs. I thought this version was more attractive and decided to purchase it. I'm not happy with it because I haven't been able to grow basil--of all things. Usually basil was the first to grow. I have tried 3 times to grow basil and each time, the basil molds before any germination. I have gotten parsley and sage to grow but not much else. Also, the lid where the pods go in looks terribly messy. The growing solution somehow leaks through the seams and there is a bunch of brown dried solution/water on the lid.
