[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I Love a good cup of espresso and i found just the right machine to give me that. The Kitchen Aid Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine is wonderful! It has dual smart temperature sensors that give you the best tasting espresso. Set up was pretty easy and only took me a few times to get the hang of it. I love the portafilter for easy tampering. The steam wand makes great lattes and cappuccinos very easily. This machine looks great in my kitchen and i really enjoy using it!

Pros The control panel is easy to maneuver and understand. KitchenAid is the first to feature dual smart temperature sensors, called thermocoil for quick heating. The 45 seconds is amazing for people like me that are always in a hurry. The machine leaves a smaller footprint compared to others. I like the built-in descaling method. The best part is this espresso machine takes up less counter space than any other espresso machine, what a blessing. The warmer on top of the machine is another one of my favorites, just love that feature! Creates a perfect layer of crema every single time. So far I have tried espressos, lattes, mochas and Americanos and they were all perfection and tasted amazing. Cons I haven't found any yet which is amazing for me, because I always find something that can be improved upon. Maybe organize the instructions a little better. Overall, I'm extremely happy and content with this KitchenAid Espresso Machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already had the KitchenAid grinder and had been waiting for a sale to pick up this unit with a matching design and color. My only two gripes are the demi tasse warmer not meeting my expectations and the inexplicable albeit negligible water accumulation below the tray... Otherwise, perfect shots, especially when used with the grinder. I would strongly recommend the combination.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try this machine. I love all types of coffee, so to be able to make an espresso or latte was exciting! The directions were not as clear as I needed, but after watching a YouTube video, I understood. It took several trys to get a great latte. Overall, it was fun to do and probably the more I do it, the easier it will get. BUT, making this on a work day when trying to get out the door…..won't be happening.
This machine *can* make good espresso from freshly ground coffee, but it's not designed to out of the box. I bought a bottomless portafilter that came with a standard double-shot basket and the quality of my espresso SKYROCKETED for one simple reason: the single-walled, double-shot basket this machine comes with is only perforated in a small area in the centre. Standard baskets are perforated all the way out to the edge (see photo). This design flaw - which is probably intentional so that the espresso drips into the centre of this machine's flat-bottomed portafilter - results in a poor extraction, and you have to grind coarser than a suitable espresso grind or the machine chokes because there aren't enough holes for the espresso to pass through. This means at best you'll get a sour and under-extracted/watered-down shot with the stock basket that won't have the velvety texture or depth of flavour an espresso should have, because the grinds aren't fine enough to dissolve and pass through the filter and into your cup. After buying a new basket, I can grind significantly finer and get really good espresso. I was shocked how much finer I could grind and the improvement in quality. If anyone is struggling to get a good shot, try this.

Its a beautiful machine but I have tried everything to try to produce crema and still have not gotten any! Also the espresso handle has already cracked with minimal use, expected better quality from Kitchenaid.

you can't tweak the amount of espresso that is made; the machine makes the shots automatically. And even though I selected the hottest water temp, the espresso is not very hot at all
