It's a great product! Easy install, work very well. I was a bit skeptical, because my door is a bit wobbly and sometimes requires a bit of extra push to close. I have had the lock for over a month and haven't had an issue once. Highly recommend!! The relation cost, quality is the best!!
This is the most fun tech I've had in a while. I really do walk up to the lock and boom, unlock. I close the door and boom, lock. I've had it fail to unlock 3 times out of 20 and I'm pretty sure all three times were operator error. It's fast, it's fun. I love it.
Pros: The lock was packaged well and the instructions included were easy to understand. I had not swapped out a smart deadbolt before but removal of old and installing new was easy because the instructions was clear and concise. Once installed it has been working well and as with all Wyze devices, it was simple to add to the app. Cons: while this lock works as described it would be nice if it was WiFi capable. This model is Bluetooth so you don't have functionality to close remotely if out of blue tooth range. If you forget to lock your door. It stays unlocked.
I have 2 of these Wyze lock Bolts. They have been so helpful in many ways. 1. Locks itself after you set the time parameter (in case you forget to lock it). 2. I can let someone else in to walk the dogs, etc. 3. There are 3 options to open: finger print, enter code on the keypad, or someone can unlock from inside. I have had only one issue and it was with installation (the wire was in the way of the dead bolt mechanism and it gets stuck. I can drill more room but it's a fire rated door so I'd rather not compromise that integrity. The locks work well and you can program different fingerprints. Such a great price.
Love the lock, it functions great. Perfect solution where you want to keep the key on the outside. It would be a five star except the color, wish it was offered in a dark color like the other lock solutions.
Only issue I have with the locks is that my doors are steel. It's Impossible to get the lock to seal tight on the door. I think I'll either need to Dremel through the steel or 3d print a thicker gasket to seal it up.
I got this once my wyze lock stopped working after 2 yrs. The inital bolt was defective. Took over 2 wks to get a replacement. Finally got a working one and it is great. Dont have to carry keys around again.
Once you get your existing lock off, yes, it really does take just about 15 minutes to install. However, it took me almost 2 hours to remove the existing lock (not Wyze's fault but you should factor in your situation). After calibrating, it worked pretty well. There are a few challenges. First, my lock started locking and unlocking itself automatically in the middle of the night. Pretty creepy. Second, sometimes the lock does not auto-unlock when it is supposed to, usually at the most inopportune time (like when you have a load of heavy bags & you're trying to get into the door). Overall, though, it is pretty nifty. I would not use it on a door where it was the only lock (for aforementioned reasons).
I had to do a lot of customization to my door lock (I have a odd door and I knew this in advance) But my 3 star rating is because my lock dosent always connect to my iPhone in general I am happy with the lock but because of the Bluetooth issue I've only got the auto-unlock feature to work once
Really wanted to like this, but so far it's been giving us some unwanted issues. We're moving from a keypad lock, but wanted the integration of the remote unlock feature. Our parents frequently pick up our dog when we're away at work, and she would often forget the code when coming to pick her (our doggy) up. I own several Wyze products and thought that this would be a better alternative to the Nest lock I was looking to purchase. At a fraction of the cost I took a leap of faith. So far, the auto unlock is pretty hit or miss for us. We've had it installed for about week now - and have noticed that the auto unlock won't unlock after we leave for a couple minutes (say 20 to 30 mins). We do nightly walks after dinner for about 20 - 30 minutes in our neighborhood, and upon walking home the door doesn't unlock. But if we drive out of at 2 mile radius I suppose, it doesn't matter how long we're away the door seems to unlock every other time. I guess, it would be nice to limit the distance of the "geofence" to allow for more accurate unlocks. Today, while we were home - the door decided to unlock on its own. Not sure what the glitch was - but right now, we're missing our keypad lock. I wanted this to work, but so far it's not performing as well as the security cameras that we own several of. A total of 6 cameras :D Might look into getting a refund. Not, what I was hoping for.
