Really wish it had a rec/out so I could record my album or any analog source. Plenty of power and a great price. Really love the compact height. Overall a great receiver and I would recommend it to my friends.
I needed a small tuner amplifier and then I only have a 30 1/2“ x 7“ holes that I can have in a rock fireplace to put my tuner amplifier and my speakers. I am having trouble finding quality speakers that would fit roughly in a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 x X Space. Have you any suggestions for a quality small speaker that could be put in this area??
After years of hearing the virtues of Marantz audio devices, I finally bit the bullet and stepped into the arena. I am not disappointed. The product exudes polish and finesse. It was easy to setup and I am extremely pleased with the sound and the feature set. The on-screen menu is well thought out, and the auto-tune setup using the supplied mic worked like a charm. Highly recommended entry-level product.
The NR1711 is a very good ,super versatile AV receiver in a surprisingly compact size. I like the easy to read front info screen and the interface to a monitor makes set up a snap. I would have chosen, (given a choice) the old style Marantz gold anodized enclosure with the blue lights. That "look" set Marantz apart during the 70's. The Helos app works relatively well but the Marantz 2016 receiver app needs refining as it really is not that useful at this point. We use Spotify as a primary music source and it connects perfectly with the Helos app and the receiver.
The old SR 6003 i had as the center of the system was getting a bit old. also having bought a 4k TV recently necessitated getting a new AVR. the NR1711 is absolutely wonderful. not as powerful as the 6003 (who needs that much power in a normal living room) but warmer better sound -- which is amazing, since the 6003 was really good. I have it in a 5.1 configuration, going into existing set of really good 4ohm speakers. i mostly listen to music and stream movies; sometimes sports. it does all those wonderfully in a small attractive package. very happy -- highly recommended

This refurbished unit looks like new. I have been using it daily for 5 days as of the date of this post.
We redid our first floor and I used the opportunity to build out the system of my dreams for the family room. I don't need a high wattage system for the 16 by 18 foot space. I put four speakers in the ceiling (rear and height). Plus the front array (left, right, center, sub). This sub is amazing for TV and movies. It complements the experience instead of dominating it. It does a seamless job of recognizing the best audio (surround, atmos, etc.). The set up was easy with system prompts and auto calibration. I recommend great speakers for this unit, but matched to the output of 50 watts. My Bowers & Wilkins are a bit too much for this receiver, the klipsch center and ceiling speakers (still high endish) are perfect.
A lot of features I am looking for. Disappointed in lack of audio outputs as I have reel to reel and some other analog recording devices. Creating lossless files from vinyl for on the road would be nice. However, all of the other features and capabilities of this device are outstanding. Trying to figure out why only one FM station, while recognized, has no sound, all the others do. Connections were simple and setup seamless. For the price range a great value.
This unit has very little compatibility with Alexa. The goal is to listen to audible and be able to control volume 1 level a a time. The HEOS interface is not as smooth as hoped for. I will try to use a Fire cube for more control but at this point and hopefully it will become usable. I have purchased Marantz components to date.
