The Carex Toilet Seat Elevator has helped my Mother-in-Law tremendously!!! She is 85-years old and has essential tremors, which makes her very unsteady on her feet. Prior to purchasing this item, she had fallen twice while attempting to push up on the vanity and bathtub to get up from the toilet. Luckily, we were at home with her, and she was uninjured, except for some bruising. She loves this item, and she feels much more independent and secure in going to the restroom now. The item is very easy to install and has some adjustability built into it. I would recommend this for anyone needing additional support getting up from the toilet.
I love this product. It is just what I need. I didn't realize you could purchase handles with the seat elevator in one product. Having had knee surgery, I needed both. It is sturdy and very easy to install. It has really saved me a lot of pain! Highly recommend it!
The Carex Toilet Seat arrived 1 day early, was easily installed, and works just fine for me, a 75 year old man with nerve damage in the low back who has lost the use of muscles in both buttocks and both thighs. This product is just what I needed and I am fully satisfied.
This carex toilet seat elevator is very easy to install and works great. Just have to make sure that the toilet seat with lid has holes to connect properly. Otherwise you have to get adapters to make it work. This is my second carex elevator, you have to be careful not to slam down the seat or it will crack the plastic. My first one cracked after a year of use by a family of three. Over all it is a very good product.
I like my new “Throne”. I am 94 years old and was having problems getting up and down my low seat. This makes it so much easier, I’m happy I ordered it !
A friend has had two strokes and has trouble with regular bathroom appliances. We tried the potty seat which stood alone, over the regular commode, that was a disaster. Then I search all disability websites and found many varied prices for Carex toilet seats. Walmart had the best price. IT is installed and he loves it. (I am 71 and mobile and I love it also..... LOu h.
The seat is supposed to support 250 lbs. , with only 200 lbs. the top dented after only a few days from the toilet seat . Also arrived in poor condition, but was ok.
First, there was no mention that this seat WOULDNT work with a selfclosing toilet cover. The bolts/washers were a tad small for the holes as you can see in the photo. This was my first experience with a raised toilet seat I didn't realize how necessary locks would be...without them I was forced to use duct tape to keep the seat from moving. (See the photo) My husband had a hip replacement and the height was perfect, the seat well made and is a huge improvement in his recovery. Please communicate and improve the above issues and you'll have a perfect product! (And the arms were solid and secure).
i tried to cancel this toilet riser with a few minutes of ordering it. it would not let me do the cancelation. it came in last night. I called to return it, no use they said NO again. i ask for a supervisor, she put me on hold for a while. when she came back, she sent this to the escalation team. idk what this is, passing the buck to someone else. if i dont hear from them soon, call Walmart back. this is a 64.00 toilet riser, I'm on a fixed income, just had major back surgery 12/11/2023 . i can't believe Walmart is doing this.
I have ordered a few of these style lifts over the years, for my 97 year old father. They have all worked well. This Carex one however, not only had dents in the top after just one use but it also CRACKED on the side... by the THIRD DAY. Now, I watch him sit down each time, and he sits very carefully. He doesn't crash down onto it. Ever. So, not only is this particular seat lift very disappointing... it is potentially dangerous. I will have to get another one quickly to replace this one before it gives out underneath him. I'd give this zero stars if I could.
