I purchased this for my elderly father who needs a little boost and elevation on the throne. I like that a regular existing toilet seat fits on top of the riser. It was very simple and easy to install. I have the elongated version and it fit perfectly. I chose the hinged version for sanitary reasons as you can lift it to clean under it. I was surprised that even though it is hinged, it is still very stable with only a slight side to side movement when sitting down. I chose store delivery from WM and it arrived very fast; two days earlier than originally promised.
After knee surgery, my mom needed a few more inches in height to use the toilet. I had bought from other companies but they were not as advertised (too tall) or wouldn't attach to the bowl securely enough. One place would not allow returns because the item was "a medical device". The other one which was wrong size, I had to pay about $20 shipping charges to send it back. Then I bought two different ones from walmart and easily sent one back without charged shipping. The one I kept was easy to attach with a screwdriver and very secure. (it comes with long metal bolts that replaced the original cheaper plastic bolts that came with the toilet) Having it hinged makes it a lot easier to clean. And since you can attach the original seat cover to it, it looks better. The price is right also.
My father had 2 back surgeries and was going to need a long term solution for a raised toilet seat. This has been the perfect solution! It was easy to install and easy to keep clean with the hinged feature. It has made a huge difference in the ability to car for him and provided him a feeling of normalcy as it sits under the original toilet seat. I would HIGHLY recommend this product for someone needing a raised seat.
After long stay at the hospital, I was having difficulty getting off commode by myself. This see the toilet to the best position where I have no problem getting up on my own. It would be left anyone with disability, elderly or any problems in that area.
I love it. I have arthritis in my knees and the height takes pressure off and allows me to be close to a standing position as I use crutches. I especially like that it fits under your existing lid and seat. Very easy to install as well. I had brought another seat but saw this one and decided to try it. I returned the first one.
Much needed for that extra height. The attachment hardware different than my original toilet seat so did not have a tight fit. Will need to buy a larger washer to be able to use my original toilet seat on top of this seat. Still able to use this toilet seat without the original seat on top. A small person may not be able to sit on it without the original seat on top, so prepare to obtain a different size washer to attach your original seat on top for a tight fit.
Got this for mom. The only negative thing I can say is the lid won't stay up. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
The quality of this product is nice and strong. However, my grandma needed a lid that goes with it so she needed a 3 or 3 1/2 inch with a lid. I have to return it and go online and find another 1.? On to the next ….. We Love Us Some Walmart‼️‼️
The front side shifts a little to right and/or left no matter how tight the two back screws are.
I bought this product hoping it would work but it didn't. There is no locking mechanism in the front so no matter how tight you have the screws, the seat still moves from side to side. This product would be great if it locked in the front and the side cut outs were not there. I don't recommend it.
