I was surprised that I received my Over The Bed Table the next day after ordering it, that's what you call fast shipping. It was exactly what I wanted. Easy to assemble within 15 minutes and I'm 65. Its sturdy and it goes on either side of my bed and I do have a high bed. This is a good size table which I place my laptop on with room enough to write. Has a large cup holder and a place for me to set my pencil or pen without it rolling off the table and there still room for my phone. It has a handle on the side of the table at your finger tips that raises the table up or down while your in bed or sitting in your chair. Everything I need is at my finger tips. My daughter-in-law liked mine so much she bought one for herself. I highly recommend this table if your looking for an Over The Bed Table.
My mother is housebound and under Hospice care. We needed to get her a table for over the bed and/or over a chair. None of the ones we looked at really caught our attention. We did not want that old "hospital looking furniture". We spotted this one on line and it was unanimous to purchase this table. We are glad that we did so. It wipes up beautifully from any spills and the lip around the edges prevents spills. I will admit that after I put it together, it was a little bit slanted. I emailed the Carex Company ASAP. The very next day, I received both an email and a telephone call telling me how to correct the problem. IT WORKED. The folks at Carex were phenomenal. Loved the Walmart price, no shipping price, and fast delivery. This was an all around great experience.
After reading about some over the bed tables, I was concerned that this table might not hold up and would be difficult to assemble. Thankfully I was wrong on both counts. The table is very sturdy and was extremely easy to assemble. It cost more than some others but it was worth it. As a result, I am not concerned about my 89 year old uncle having his table fall apart over his bed.
Purchased this table for my adult son to use at his bed and for meals, reading, etc..The table was unassembled but I was able to assemble it in about 10 minutes, very simple with clear instructions. The base and tabletop are plastic and the post is metal. The up/down feature works great and is very simple to grasp the lever to move the top up or down. The base design allows for easy manuevering around household furniture. The price was almost half of others seen online. I paid extra for quick delivery and the table arrived a day earlier than expected!
This table has some nice features, but is, I think, overpriced for its overall quality. Good points: easy to assemble; lightweight; table has a raised edge all the way around to keep things from falling/rolling off the edge, and at one end, pen/pencil grooves and cup/mug slot. Cons: although the feet are on casters, it doesn't roll as smoothly as I'd like; as there is no top to bottom support at the far end of the tray, I can't see this table safely bearing 50 lbs of weight as it's advertised to do. As it is, even with nothing on it, my table slants downward at the far end (will try to attach photo). For light duty this table is ok. I'm using it as I recuperate from a hip replacement and a fractured pelvis. Think I might get something more substantial if I were going to be bedfast more than 3 months.
I purchased this table for my father who is now living with me. After a recent hospital stay, I commented to him that it would be nice to have a table like the one they had at the hospital for him to eat his meals or have his drinks in bed while recovering. This is not the same but very similar. It moves up/down and the bottom of the table can go under the bed. I like the way the bottom allows space for his legs without a bar so he can use away from the bed as well with a chair.
My husband is using this table in his home office for computer, meals, etc. The base is wide and very sturdy, plenty of room for my husband's 6' 4" frame. The table top is oversized and easy to clean and if you wanted to use it for meals in bed the height extension is amazing. Great table for a fair price.
I am not bedbound but I got this to use as a workstation area for my laptop and 24" monitor. I can use it while sitting in bed or virtually any kind of chair or stool, or even standing. I am able to fit laptop, monitor, desk lamp and still have room for papers, calculator and writing. I can roll it to any room in the house on carpeting. Assembly was easy, with pictorial diagram that was very clear. The parts list shows a single screw but that is already installed in the support post and is meant to be removed. Box weight was about 35 lbs. The base can accommodate most areas like a bed where you may have to wiggle it past some frame supports. Shipping came promptly to the store and purchase went off without a hitch. All my power plugs are in a power strip and I just move that along with the table and replug it somewhere else. I have a wireless wifi extender that keeps me online wherever I move. The only caution I would have is that the table top is not rock steady. There is some slop in the support post that allows some rotational flexing. Up and down and side to side is fine but some allowable twisting motion is built in, so it wiggles a bit when using table top. I do not use it for food but it would be fine I am sure. There is a handle that you use to raise it up and down. With all the weight I have on it, going down is easier but raising may give some a bit more difficulty. For the money it is a good product but not professional hospital quality, but then again hospitals do not normally have carpeting. I am happy with it.
Very happy, the table, stand and build are first quality. Easy to assemble and it works well. The down side is the garbage wheels. They are just useless plastic. They are far below the table's quality. I upgraded the wheels and now I have a nice table.
Beware of damaged box! I had only to put on the wheels and then I found the damage! So why send it back, when they will send back another damaged box! common sense says. If the box is damage check inside!
