Perfect just what we needed. Love that the handle can be adjusted or removed, and the fact that the whole thing is bolted on along with your toilet seat using long bolts and wing nuts is great, making it secure.
No trouble at all, very easy to install. I just had a total knee replacement on 1/16/24. Best thing to have, it has helped so much with getting up and down off the toilet. I definitely recommend this raised toilet seat.
this is an awesome way to raise the toilet seat for the loved one that needs it but yet keep the toilet seat a regular toilet seat for the other family members and neither party ever sits on cold plastic again!!
My 75 y/o mother started having problems with her left knee and found it difficult to use a regular height toilet seat. I browsed on walmart.com and found this product to have had excellent reviews. We opted to buy one with the side handles and we don't regret one bit. The additional height of 3 1/2 inches was appropriate in elevation. Installation was quick and successful, product is holding up as stable. Highly recommend! Thanks!
Very easy to assemble and you will need either a new or the original toilet set to place on top. I replaced the original with a soft seat new design.
I chose this model because it raises the height of the toilet while allowing use of the original toilet seat. Plus the integrated handles take up less room than handles that sit on the floor around the toilet. Overall this seat has worked well for my husband following his hip replacement. We have two observations, however. One, as a few reviewers have noticed, is that this seat elevator is only anchored using the anchor bolts at the back; if the anchor bolts are not super-tight, the whole thing can slide from side-to-side. It would be much safer if the manufacturer designed in some other anchors in the front or sides to keep it securely in place. The other thing is, after only 1 month of use, the top of the toilet seat elevator is getting small depressions where the toilet seat bumpers sit on top of it. My husband is only 160 lbs, so I'm surprised that the plastic is not more solid.
The only con is as noted in other reviews, it is impossible to prevent the front of the seat from moving side to side . You cannot tighten the mounting bolts tight enough, I would be afraid to tighten them more for fear of cracking the toilet bowl. The movement is minimal (about 1/2" at the front of the seat),, and, if you are careful to sit carefully using the handles for support, it should not be a problem.
Its nice for my 92 year old Grandmother. She has arthritis in her needs which has caused her some difficulties getting up and down from low seats. This works! She likes that it comes with armrest, because helps her get up fast my. The height of the seat could have been maybe 1 to 1/2 inches more, but fine! The true problem that I had with this product was that the armrests were damaged. My grandmother didnt want to send it back, so we just installed it and look pass the damage being that it did not effect the use of the seat. I would stay that a plastic seat covers works best for this product because a wooden seat cover would not close completely but the plastic one did. The armrest do have to heights, 1 or 2, however there is not a lock knob for 1 like there is for 2. Hopefully this does not cause a issue. This product CAN NOT be returned in stores ONLY through msg return. I will include pictures of the damage.
The concept of this toilet seat is great and it has a slim design that was appealing during this very difficult physical time for me as I have a very old home with a tiny powder room to which I am confined for a long period of months. However, to be honest, it wiggles because the front does not attach and that makes me feel somewhat unstable. Additionally, there is a large gap that is created between the bowl (after regular toilet seat is removed as it needs to be) and this product. The result is that urine flowed down under the product and onto the floor and that created a slip hazard. Sorry for the bluntness, but safety is a factor for folks using something like this.
The back of the elevated seat is fastened to the toilet by 2 long bolts thru elongated bolt-holes which also allows the seat to shift no matter how much the bolts are tightened. The front of the seat has nothing to hold it in place (this is the major problem) & as a result, wobbles from side to side. If the user does not sit straight down, the seat can turn at an angle or slide to one side. We were very disappointed.
