I liked the burger smasher a lot. I made ground bison and beef bacon balls, put them on my Weber grill outfitted with the Weber griddle pan, topped the balls with parchment paper and smashed them into relatively thin burgers. Delicious.
This is perfect! I use it like every other day! I have gained weight because i keeo eating burgers! Haha Will buy again!
I had my first Smashburger about 4 weeks ago in the Dallas airport, and went home and looked up the technique on Youtube. This press is a no-brainer for any smashburger fan. gave it it's maiden voyage run last night on Grill Grates (flat surface), and had excellent results, but will surely use my Lodge griddle on the next run because of flare-ups. Live and learn...great, tasty crust.
I've been waiting for this burger press for a long time. Once I saw it here I ordered it immediately. This press will make burgers the perfect & consistent thickness & juiciest with the tastiest crust you've ever eaten. Use 80/20 ground chuck. Thanks Blackstone!
I was the first to review this tool & this is the second one I bought as a Christmas present for my son. I know he will enjoy this with his new 28” griddle as much as I have. Great tool. As a suggestion I'd recommend a smaller one for sliders & I believe it would be well received by our griddle community. I know I'd buy one. Thanks again & Merry Christmas to you all!
Been wanting a tool like this for over a year now. I mostly use 1/3 cup burger 'pucks' to smash down when making smash burgers, but may have to try more with this tool as they seem a little thicker than I'd like. Very delicious though, so maybe this is the better thickness anyway! :)
It's great that the press is one solid piece of metal--the press I normally use has screws and loosens frequently. However, having to use patty paper every time adds steps to the process and the bottom rim is a bit too large--it presses the burgers too thick for my liking. I prefer them a little thinner. The press seems indestructible though.
I am pursuing after the 2 - 2 1/2 Oz "Shake N Steak" style smash burger. This makes burgers too thick for that when using that amount of beef. I agree with Rick James, design a way to adjust thickness, or simply make an additional tool that is intended for smaller thickness size of a patty. Please do not misunderstand me. a 4-8 ounce patty would be fine with this. -but will not work for thinner style pattys which are very very popular too (in diners and in backyards.. Quality, Materials and Craftsmanship? Beyond excellent. Well made piece. It is hard to find this kind of finish quality in metal products (ps: I too like Rick would be glad to field test some optional sizes)
It works as advertised and built well but I think the burger is a too thick for me. I think Blackstone should make plates that fit inside so you can adjust the thickness of your burger, no one else makes something like this and I'd be glad to test it for you!
This is a good product, but it is the older style with a rim around the press plate. This, you can only get your smashburgers as thin as the rim. I use my larger bacon press instead.
