I feel like Garmin has stepped into the modern watch era with this one. Garmin has always been top of the like with athletic features. However now we have features like paying with card, music although not Apple Music. It looks fantastic, but it is a little heavier than my old 935xt. I'm really happy with the watch on the whole and pleased to make memories with it.
After years of searching and at least 8 different smart watches later, I have finally found the perfect piece for me in the Garmin Fenix 7 Solar. This watch has every feature I could want from spot on navigation and maps to amazing body Stat features to every type of work out app you could want. And the battery lasts forever! The only thing I would change would be to make the back screen a little brighter. But, it is still very legible. Overall, it's an absolutely amazing piece. I highly recommend!
I wanted a durable easy to use smart watch. Being someone who is outdoors a lot and very tough on equipment I needed a watch with features I could use, that tracked biometrics, was easy to use and navigate, and was able to stand up to my abuse. The Garmin fit the bill and then some.
I replaced a Forerunner and wanted golf functionality. I have only used for running, cycling and kayaking so far, but so far so good. I can't visibly see the benefit of solar charging at this point, but that doesn't mean it's not adding some charge to the battery. I like the more durable construction.
Battery life is great can get 20+ days out of it. Lots of functions that are great to use. The gps isn't the best graphics but it is functional. I enjoy it. I had a Garmin watch fenix 3gr before this and I get 7 years out of it before it wouldn't hold a charge and all the functionality of it quit working so it lasted quite the long time.
My “Garmin world” started a couple of years ago with the purchase of my 66i In Reach. I do a lot of backcountry fly fishing and love the SOS feature of wilderness travel. Recently, after investigating the features of the new smart watches by Garmin, my wife purchased the fenix 7 for my BDay. Tracking my alpine skiing adventures was the initial thought. The reward I never anticipated was the monitoring of sleep and body recovery patterns. You find yourself accountable to your watch to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Sleep scores and training readiness are so key to your overall lifestyle. At 75 years old, I have taken a new look at the importance of “listening to my body”. Thank you Garmin.
I had FR 245. initally wanted 965 or enduro for long lasting battery and I just bought fenix 7 just to try out and I fell in love with it. fenix 7 is what you want if you like multiple different workouts.
The fenix 7 is a good watch with some outstanding features. My only complaint is with the charging cable connection. It falls out and is difficult to get a connection. As soon as a blood glucose monitor is included I'm going to buy another one.
I don't expensive or spend lots of time outdoors. I only want to know what the date and time is. What I like: Its a true standalone watch that doesn't need to routinely synced to a smartphone. Its battery life is 1 day per 1% charge on Time Only mode. 100% charge = 100 days of battery (time only mode). It doesn't use Wear OS. It uses Garmins own proprietary OS. Looks Nice. Feels like a heavy duty hard core watch. I get to brag to my coworkers that my smart watch is more expensive than theirs. What I don't like: The solar charging doesn't work very well. I'm not 100% sure it works at all. I subtracted 1 star for this. If this were a model that wasn't said to have solar charging it would be a 5 star watch. They need to provide more info about solar charging to potential customers.
I bought this watch for the looks alone beautiful looking watch , I was excited about it when I got it I was unable to pair up right away w my iPhone I had to rely on trouble searching after almost 45 minutes I was able to pair up, I dl the app and started wearing it Approximately 1 hr after the watch stopped working, complete dead. The watch was at 97percent when I started wearing it. Big disappointment. I charged it over night and the next day Still dead, back in the box And sent it back. SMH I had to opt out for my second choice I watch w a rugged case. Not bad so far. That was my experience.
