This thermometer works great on my 1 year old. I tried several other thermometers and she screamed everytime I had to keep her still to take her temperature under her arm. She does not even blink when I use this thermometer. It is very quick and accurate. I would just recommend buying the filters whenever you see them because only 20 come with it and you have to change it every time. They are also very hard to find. I had to purchase more over the internet.
We have been wanting to get this product for a while and finally ordered it and received it 2 days before our kids got sick. What a relief to take their temp. in seconds instead of minutes using an under arm thermometer. At ages 6mo and 3yrs they won't sit still for long and now they don't have to.
This is a great product. My daughter is 21 months old and hates getting her temp taken, so the fact that this takes it really quickly is great. AND, she doesn't mind since it's taken in her ear. So far it has been really accurate. The only complaint that I have is having to purchase the covers that go on the end of it.
Works very well, especially in comparison to the Safety 1st product. Temperatures are accurate and consistent. Highy recommend this product.
I am a physician, and I recommend this model for infants over 6 months of age. Younger infants should have rectal tempuratures taken, as they are less likely to "tell" you that they are sick, and the rectal tempurature is the least likely to have error.
Our baby awoke this morning with around 101+ degree temp! I had an under the arm and pacifier types of thermometers and neither worked well because they took way too long and she wouldn't hold still long enough to get an accurate reading! I ran to Wal Mart and got the Braun because of all the excellent reviews for it! It was awesome! The feature I was especially impressed with was that the ear tip stays warm so it doesn't lower the ear canal temp, which would give incorrect readings! By this time her temp had gotten to 102! With the 1 second readouts, I was able to check her every little while and keep a better hold on the fever! She didn't mind the short touch of her ear. Wonderful product for a sick baby and worried grandma!
I work at a small daycare and we use this thermometer almost daily, changing the ear covers is quick and easy and most of the kids don't have a problem with it in their ear, it's quick enough to get an accurate temp with a fussy child i love using it and am planning on buying one for my own home.
My mother bought me one of these a year and a half ago. I was under going chemo at the time and had a mouth full of blisters. I was required to take my temperature several times a day. Putting a thermometer in my mouth was impossible. This product was a God send. It is quick, accurate and comfortable. Battery life is good too. I just recently had to replace the battery (standard AA). My mom requested one for Christmas because my dad is a diabetic and he needs to be monitored for infections. I recommend this product a thousand times over. It's great.
I bought this thermometer well over a year ago, and the only complaint that I have is the price. Overall a excellent ear thermometer and I haven't lost it yet, unlike the other small ones. Fits in the ear perfectly, whether its for a baby, toddler, or adult. Definately recommend it!!
I love this thermometer. I've had it for 2 years, and it still works perfectly. It's very accurate (I complared it to the one at the pediatricians office a few times). It's very simple to use, my son doesn't mind it at all. He actually likes it so I have to keep it up high or he'll try to take his own temperature. I only have two complaints. 1 - It comes in a soft case. When my son isn't feeling well I keep this in the diaper bag. The case is soft, so the buttons get pressed whenever i move the bag and the batteries die quickly. When I relized this I started keeping the thermometer in a hard case I had from a pair of sunglasses instead of the one it came in. Problem solved. 2 - The lens filters are very hard to find (the little plastic cap that goes over the tip of the thermometer to keep ear wax and things off the tip). My thermometer came with 21, and you're supposed to change the lens filter after every reading. My advice is that when you find a place that has them, buy in bulk.
