I bought this for my daughter as a mother's day present to go along with her bike I purchased also from Walmart. My little grand daughter just loves it! Her mommy takes her riding every evening. Great family time!
Great price!!!! Fast 2 day shipping. Took a minute to put on the bike.It fit a 26 inch huffy real well.
I restore and collect old bicycles. l bought this Bell Cocoon 300 Child Carrier so my three-year-old grand-daughter could ride with her mom. I followed the instructions and, with minor adjustments, mounted it on my daughter's vintage (circa 1963) Roadmaster "Westpoint" that I restored some time ago (see attached pictures). I highly recommend this item and the seller. Great value and FAST shipping! Dave N., (Georgia)
I absolutely love this carrier and would recommend to anyone wanting to bike with your young kids. The price is fantastic especially since some are listed for three times as much as what this costs and I really liked the fact that I could pick up in the store to save on shipping costs. The assembly was pretty straight forward. The only modification we had to make to my bike to make it fit was to remove the reflector bracket that was in the back of my bike, but that was as simple as taking out one bolt. The instructions for straight forward and had decent pictures, there is also an app to help you put it together with better pictures and even videos. The two things I love most about this bike is the fact that it is weighted up to 40lbs (majority of the others only go to 30lb) and the fact that it has a washable cushion. I know I wouldn't want to sit on a hard plastic seat the whole ride. It's not a very thick cushion, but anything is better than nothing. My daughter loves the handle bar that attaches as well. She has so much fun riding the bike with us. This was a great purchase!!
perfect for my 15 month old boy beautiful experience for all of a family bike trip
For my purpose, this product is great! I installed it infront of my bike and it works. My two-year old son loves the almost daily biking around the neighborhood and it is a great bonding experience for us. My 4-year old nephew and 8-year old niece could also fit and this bike attracts them to come over on weekends - unbelievable. Cons: For rear position, the U-bracket may be too short if your bike seat is at the lowest position. But you could buy a longer bracket at a local hardware store, if you need to and I was able to use this same U-bracket when I installed another carrier (that also came with a short connector) for the rear of my bike. With two bike carriers, I could give my son and either my nephew or niece a ride a the same time. Both carriers were from the same manufacturer priced at $25 and $48.99 by Walmart - great value for my money. Thank you Walmart!
I read reviews for a similiar carrier before I chose to purchase this one. It is well worth the money. I have a bike with the quick release seat adjustment and this works well with it. I have a tall 18-month-old daughter and she absolutely loves it. It is sturdy, stylish and does the job. I would recommend it to anyone.
This seat didn't fit my bike with the original piece that connects to my seat. It was too short causing my seat to rest on top of my baby's legs. We took the piece off that connects to the underside of my seat and put a new longer piece. It pushed the seat back farther and now it isn't anywhere near my baby's legs. This is a very sturdy, comfortable and nice looking seat and my baby loves it.
If you have quick release levers for your seat post, beware. This product assumes you have an 8mm bolt tightening your seat post. Most newer bikes have quick release levers. I have four bicycles, and none of them have the type of seat post that this product assumed that I had. What's really strange is the photo on the box shows a connection to the seat post that is not included in the box, that would make it work! I called Bell and the person I spoke with was instantly aware of the problem, was kind on the phone, but had no solution other than, "maybe you can get a refund". They could not even send me the connection to the seat post that was shown on the cover of the box! He said the photo on the box was a markup that wasn't included??? Wierd. If you have quick release levers, this product doesn't work well. I was able to "rig" it, but it's not perfect.
I like the price and my granddaughter fits in it. Too bad it's unusable due to the U-bolt included isn't like in the manual. The manual depicts a rounded u-bolt that fits around the seat post. What came was a squared one. I found another Cocoon300 manual on-line with a square u-bolt. It bolts to the back of the seat. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of seat. I emailed Bell support a week ago and got no response. $36 isn't the end of the world but it sure could have gone to better use elsewhere.
