I'm surprised by the negative reviews. Granted, I didn't try the former recipe. I grabbed this as a last minute item in the store, to take to an outside picnic the following day. The day of the picnic was hot. Like, 98° in the shade hot. I brought this hummus in a cooler and it was a big hit. Even by someone who doesn't typically like hummus. I would describe it as "zesty". It does have a bit of a tang to it, but maybe because of the heat of the day, it was refreshing.
My first time buying hummus and wow this flavor is fantastic! Perfectly done. I paired it with some lime chips, and will try it with veggies later. Yum! And not expensive!
This used to be my favorite hummas. It was herby and tasty and all-around a great dip. Now they changed the recipe and it's just nasty. It's not herby any more and is so lemony it is like licking a lemon raw. It's really really gross, and I typically like lemony things. I'm NEVER buying this again and I'm so upset that they changed it.
The original recipes were AMAZING. I purchased the “improved” new recipe and I feel it was a complete waste of money. The new recipes are very harsh and artificial tasting, although the label says, “no artificial flavors or colors.” These have completely lost the balance the original recipes carried. Please un-“improve” them. I purchased the Black Bean Jalapeño hummus and the Lemon Cilantro at least once a week! The Lemon Cilantro tastes like furniture polish and grass with the “new” recipe. The Black Bean Jalapeño tastes chalky and cheap. Neither have the fresh, bright flavors that had me hooked at first taste. I will not purchase again if this recipe stays on the shelves.
I love hummus. I love lemons. I love cilantro. But this stuff tasted more like chemicals than anything else. I really wanted to like it. Not sure if I got a bad batch, but I cannot recommend this stuff
The new "improved" recipe is not worth buying. I loved the old recipe, our household went through a container a week. The new recipe is drier, less flavorful and less appealing. Please switch back.
Improved recipe has quite disappointed me and my husband. We were hard core chips and hummus eater. We always were excited to get Marketside blackbean and lemon hummus. Now we dont even like to buy them anymore. We miss the old edition hummus a lot. Please kindly bring the old recipe back. We hate this improved recipe. It does not taste good at all. Blackbean hummus does not go with cumin taste. It tastes really bad.
Who tasted this horrific concoction and thought oh ya lets sell that! beyond terrible! I let all my coworkers try it and they literally gagged and THREW THE CONTAINER to get it away from them! I threw it away!
It would be 5 starts because I love the old recipe...now it is ""improved"" but it just got worse...not better. Change it back, please!!
